Any second now somebody is going to put a bolt through his abused jacket, right through his generous heart and Finn will be dead and what will she tell Poe? “Kylo, no, please.”
“As you wish,” he says calmly and she hates him so fiercely in this moment it’s like her skin is on fire with it. Her mouth is dust and ashes. “You can save your friend. Or you can run to warn your comrades, hoping you’re still in time to keep them alive. Or you can keep me here. But you can only do one of those things, so choose, Rey. Choose who dies.”

This is technically a fragment, although it can stand on its own. The second half of this would not shake itself out of my fingertips but I like this enough to post it anyways.

Cullen breathes the same biting air that she does, suffers the same complaints of inadequate shelter, walks through the same half frozen muck that claws at everyone’s boots and patience but that is all. If he eats, it is alone. He must sleep but when she could not say. If his body requires ease there are no rumors of it, salacious or otherwise.
Never unarmored. Never without a sword or knife to hand. And that what she gives him he purifies ruthlessly and that the cold light of it does not seem to end.

A few months after the events of Guanyin Temple, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji take on a night hunt of an unusual sort: The Burial Mounds are spreading, quickly and with no apparent explanation.
In Wei Wuxian, it brings old, long-buried things bubbling to the surface.
