“You don’t have to go if you don’t want to,” Bruce reminds the child sitting next to him gently. The limo turns a corner, and Dick exaggeratedly throws himself into Bruce’s side, giggling. Since they’ve been playing this game the entire drive to the gala, Bruce knows his role is to let out a patented sigh and hoist Dick back into a sitting position, trying to look stern and failing.
“I wanted to come, B. Besides, Alf said it was my job to make sure you didn’t leave after 10 minutes.”

She did not know the Professor well. They hadn't talked much since his arrival from Galar, and although their offices were close together, a friendly conversation between the two of them usually consisted of her sending him and whatever recruit out into the wilderness to fill out pages of the pokedex. She doesn’t have the foggiest clue what he could want.
And that made her nervous. The unknown. She dictated her life by schedule- anything that counteracted sat in the back of her mind like a heavy stone until it was tossed away. It's what kept her life...mostly peaceful.
In three minutes, the peace would be disturbed by Professor Laventon.
