Summary
Kaeya’s hips are not fidgeting in hopes of finding a better spot to lie on the old mattress. Rather, he lifts them up only to grind down against the bedspread. His movements are subtle, but not subtle enough for Diluc to absolutely ignore what is happening.
A broken moan tumbles from his lips, falling into the soft pillow.
Diluc freezes. His breath halts, the blood in his veins slowly turning to ice. His brain is trying and failing to process the information it receives. The small, desperate movement of Kaeya’s hips, the pants that sound surprisingly like sobs now, the way he seems to edge closer to Diluc, who is now hovering over him in a cynical parody of intimacy. He wants to scream.
A tale as old as time. Kaeya gets dosed on a night out and implores Diluc to help him - if only things were that simple.

Summary
The seelies weren't the only thing that changed after the bar incident as Diluc did as well. They still kept their rules in public: Keeping on the familiar show of constantly butting heads, acting like everything was normal and there wasn’t anything a bit more romantic going on, but things were different in private. Diluc had taken his comments to heart even if they were just offhand teasings, and he made sure he was always giving Kaeya the attention he deserved. He was more cuddly now, and he usually made sure Kaeya was somewhere in arms reach so he could touch him even if it was something as chaste as holding hands.
When Kaeya has to leave without him on a trip to Dragonpsine and Diluc has to watch their seelies constantly love each other, he starts to question what he really wants out of his relationship with Kaeya.
(Or: Diluc and Kaeya accidentally teach their seelies how to fuck and it’s causing problems.)

“It’s Luc. Di-luc.” Kaeya corrects her in mid-chew. She could never remember his name for some god forsaken reason. Yet she has no problems reciting those verses in ancient Khaenri'ahn with her eyes closed.
