“You should just move in,” Eddie said one night. They were already laying in bed, Buck’s face half-buried in his pillow.
“Where would I sleep, Eddie,” Buck deadpanned, sleep heavy in his voice.
“Here,” Eddie said, not entirely sure how Buck missed that part. “The same place you’ve been sleeping.”
Bobby raised an eyebrow when Buck updated his address on all of the necessary paperwork, but Eddie wasn’t entirely sure what the big deal was.

Summary
He wonders whether he should’ve warned Eddie that he was on his way, but he won’t bother with it now. It’s the middle of the night, the neighborhood so comfortably still that it makes Buck squirm, and there’s nothing left to do but let himself in, the keys rattling in his grip and amplifying everything Buck doesn’t want to feel.
Buck opens the door and steps inside, toeing off his shoes as he locks up. The living room is lit by an infomercial that suggests Eddie isn’t watching anything at all, and Buck looks on curiously as the mound of blankets on the couch turns toward him.
“Took you a minute to come in,” Eddie mumbles.
“Yeah, no, I—” Buck sighs. “I just wanted to check. I—I wasn’t sure.”
“Sure about what?”
“Whether you’re okay.”
The blankets shift until they’re staring at the tv again. “I’m not.”

Set during s3/s4, featuring a lot of sex and angst and love and beautiful idiots (affectionate) who could always save themselves some trouble if they had one thoroughly honest conversation. Written for the prompt, "a touch when you’re falling apart."
