We have all heard about how Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan were literal opposites of each, except at the same time the same. How one was quiet and the other loud. One brash and the other composed. One with a smile and the other with a frown. We have also concluded how similar they are. Both wore masks. Both had a strong sense of wrong and right. But what about the other characters. What about the characters that were so much more important to Wei Ying than Lan Zhan. Because you can't convince me that he was the most important to Wei Ying. Not when he screamed in the rain and willed Wen Ning back to life. Not when he gave up everything for Wen Qing. Not when he gave his golden core up for Jiang Cheng, when he willed lotuses to grow to remind himself of home, when he survived hell for his siblings. He did not choose strangers over family. He realized that Lotus Pier was in safe hands with Jiang Cheng and went to help the rest of his family.Series

Summary
As Wen Qing walked to her death, her heart thought of all that had led to this. Remembers a time when all she wanted to do was protect her brother and her family. Yet somehow along the way that changed. There was not room in her heart for love besides the undying devotion for her brother. And yet here she was, giving love to another person. She did not have room to love Jiang Cheng, but a boy who had given his everything for her and her family, who gave them food then went back to farm more without eating, who made them a home out of nothing but ash and bone, who made A-Yuan laugh and who grew lotuses in a barren wasteland. Somehow there was room for him nestled beside the spot she carried her brothers love.

Not a Fairytale ending but as close to it as we could ever hope for.
