Summary
Katara crawls in slowly to the other side of the tent, but even with her body up against the side of it, there's less than a foot of space between them and she can feel Zuko's body heat beside her.
That dizzying warmth of his is as intoxicating as it is frightening. She reflexively reaches out to her element and finds the river easily.
It's there if she needs it.
She feels foolish now for going along with everything. For agreeing to this insane idea. She doesn't know this man. She doesn't trust this man. And now she's agreed to sleep beside him and pretend to be his wife.

Summary
“And then what do you do?” she purred, rolling them over again without resistance and grinding herself up the length of him so perfectly that it took his breath away.
When he finally caught it, he answered, “And then I pin you against the wall and tell you I'll just have to make it up to you.” He thrust up, chasing the heat between her legs. “And then I sink to my knees and you let me repent.”

“How dare you disrespect me like this, peasant,” she bites out the first insult to come to mind.
“Peasant? Is that a pet name?” his smirk widens and she scowls. “I didn’t expect you to be so forward, Princess.”
After the war, Azula’s bending isn’t what it used to be and she agrees to accept a personal guard.
She ends up with much more than she bargained for.

Summary
“Have you really not noticed the way all the court ladies hit on you?” Katara shoots him a look but he just frowns in response. “Are you really that clueless?”
“It’s not like I don’t notice, but I know they only want me because I’m the Firelord.”
“Yea, and because you’re a hot piece of ass.”
Zuko promptly chokes on his whiskey.

Jet doesn’t know when it happens exactly. All he knows is that somewhere between noticing the way she makes Zuko smile and the way she’s started to smile at him, his fondness towards her had morphed into this new, raw affection.

Summary
“You seemed much more comfortable the last time we talked. You had sobered up by that point, right? You were sober when you agreed to this?”
Like she needs more of a reminder of that night, of the dizzy slant of his mouth against hers, the shiver of his touch under her shirt, the ceasefire that seemed to fall between them as their hands slowed to a well-advised stop and they tipped into the uncomfortable clarity of post-drunken murmurings.
Like she hasn’t thought about it every minute since it happened.
Like that isn’t half the fucking issue, here.
Zuko's put forward a proposition — something that he thinks might help Katara to, in his words, stop thinking about anything else for a while. Now it's up to her to decide whether or not she trusts him enough to go through with it.
It might turn out that letting go is easier than she thinks...
