Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there. I did not die.
Elrond mourns those he has lost, but he has not lost Maglor entirely. It seems his foster-father's ghost is determined to look after him for as long as he can.
Maglor, against all odds, keeps on surviving and taking care of his children, even if he can't risk being caught.

In a typical display of smith-related hubris, Arwen grabs a magical artifact and transports herself, Maglor, and Glorfindel into the past. She attempts both to change the past, which is easy, and have a summer fling, which is difficult.

When Elladan and Elrohir ask for a very specific sort of bedtime story, they aren't expecting an ancient tale of love and friendship passed down through multiple generations, but they are very eager to hear it, all the same: the tale of the heroism of Daegred Winsterhand and the love of his Finbrand, in the face of the Beastly Reaper.
