When Neal returns for his second year of page training, his childhood friend Jonthair of Trebond asks him to sponsor his neighbor and close friend Senan of Aspen Vale. Neal agrees, even though he knows Jonthair well enough to know he’s plotting something. He has no idea he just agreed to sponsor the late Thom of Trebond himself, reborn and forced to attend page training as his punishment from the gods for trying to dabble in necromancy.
