On one of her many sleepless nights, Raya escapes to the roof of Heart Palace for some space. She finds Namaari, and something else."You stare, dep la," Namaari says, her voice playful and low. Her words are a statement rather than an accusation.
So Raya's been told, by everyone from her Ba to Sisu to the Heart courtiers that once formed her mother's retinue. She feels heat crawling across her cheeks, but she'll be damned if she looks away first. "You don't seem to have a problem with it, or you would have told me to stop by now."
