Es año nuevo pero la resolución de Severus es muy distinta a la de los demás, mientras observa el cielo nocturno uno de los merodeadores llega a dónde se encuentra. Sirius ligeramente embriagado decide, en lugar de pelear como usualmente haría, compartir su botella. Severus sin nada que perder decide aceptar su propuesta. Dos semanas después Severus es llevado a la enfermería después de desmayarse en clase, las noticias que recibirán esa tarde cambiarán sus vidas para siempre.

In new year's eve Severus has a very different resolution from the others, while he is at the astronomy tower admiring the night sky one of the marauders arrives and finds him, Sirius already somewhat drunk decides, instead of fighting the Slytherin boy as usual, to invite him to share his bottle. Severus decides to accept since he has nothing left to lose. Two weeks later Severus is taken to the infirmary after fainting on class, the news they receive that after noon will change their lives forever.

Severus arrived at his flat, it was a simple place and it only had the basics because it was what he had been able to pay with his salary as a potions assistant. Overall the place wasn't bad at all and he preferred it to continuing to suffer the abuse of his father in spinners end, there was only one thing that was really missing in that place and that was company, he tried to convince himself it was ok like this just like he was used but the place was so quiet arriving with only him there...

Severus llegó a su departamento, era un lugar sencillo y únicamente tenía lo básico pues era lo que había podido pagar con su salario de asistente de posiones, aún no terminaba su maestría y por ahora la mayor parte de su salario se iba en ingredientes para practicar las posiones con las que trabajaría. En general el lugar no estaba nada mal y lo prefería a seguir sufriendo el abuso de su padre en la casa de la spinners end, solo había una cosa que realmente faltaba en ese lugar y era compañía...
