Summary
"You okay, kid?" Danny asked, leaning forward to regard the young man across the table in concern.
"No, yeah, I'm...fine," Buck shrugged, poking at his stir-fry. "My, uh, my parents heard about the...thing," he waved his free hand vaguely towards his arm, where the fresh pink line of a scar could be seen.
"Oh?" Danny's eyebrows lifted.
"...Yeah," Buck chewed on his lower lip, studying the table in front of him. "They were...they didn't take it well."
"...I take it you don't mean in an 'oh my god my kid got shot' sort of way," Danny pursed his lips, reaching out to set the tips of his fingers against the back of Buck's limp hand.
Buck snorted, sounding bitter. "'Oh, how could you risk your career like that?'" he mocked, suddenly putting on a thick, feminine French accent. "'You're just starting to do so well, Evan, darling, what would you do if they'd had to take your arm?'"
Danny scowled, suddenly taking Buck's hand in his own. "What, not even an 'are you okay?'" he asked incredulously, eyebrows knit. "I mean, shit, I'm pretty sure my ex-wife hates me, and she'll at least ask that." -

Summary
The man is more like a boy, wide-eyed with wonder, smelling of awe and wonder and warm sunshine on grass. Geralt is inordinately fond of this strange creature, the stories he tells, the way he makes Geralt seem so much better than he thinks he is.

Summary
Geralt cocked his head to the side curiously to regard the chittering fox caught in the hunter's trap. The beast had deep chestnut fur and eerily bright blue eyes. He knelt, and the creature hissed at him, baring his teeth in fear.
"I mean you no harm," he rumbled, hands palm-up. His swords were at his campsite, regardless. He reached forward slowly, and the fox didn't move, though it's teeth remained bared. It was a simple matter to pry open the trap, and the fox leapt away, chattering its teeth at him. Their eyes met for a long moment, amber to fantastical blue, and the fox dashed off.
Sighing faintly, hands resting on his knees, Geralt bowed his head tiredly. He rolled his neck to crack it, and rose to his feet to shuffle his way back to his camp.
Set out neatly next to his bedroll were three cleanly gutted rabbits, and Geralt paused in surprise. Roach whinnied softly, and stamped a hoof. A crown of golden wheat rested primly between her ears.
Ah. Fae, then. Services paid for services rendered. Hopefully the fae would consider them even, now, but something in him doubted it. -

Summary
Admittedly, Bakugo never thought about being a parent. It was...nowhere in the cards, to say the least. He was busy enough running the Twin Stars Hero Agency with his partner Midoriya Izuku, not to mention making sure the idiot didn't break himself beyond repair, not to mention managing his own anger-slash-trust-slash-parent issues.
Unfortunately, plans change.
Or maybe that's fortunately.Series

"Lance, baby, please, stay with me, okay, you gotta- you gotta stay, please! Please don't leave me alone, please, please!"
But he was already gone, eyes -blue, so blue, like the ocean, like summer sky, like delighted laughter and lingering kisses and warm hands on sore muscles- gone dull and dark with death.

Summary
eddie had heard some grim noises, in his life, but the scream he heard his best friend let out as they rescued him from the factory fire the was up there with one of the worst things eddie had ever heard. it was raw - and broken. and maybe it was the implications of that scream, that scared eddie more than the sound itself, but either way, there was something wrong with his best friend.
- or, a post 4x05 coda that explores eddie's concern for buck's mental wellbeing after the factory fire.

Summary
It’s probably considered getting off on the wrong foot when you have sex with your coworker before they start their new job, right?
Buck would think it’s probably not a good thing, and definitely something that shouldn’t be repeated. Especially when he becomes best friends with them. That’d be particularly stupid.

Summary
He hasn’t set foot inside a church since he left home and never looked back.
It feels like a lie, now. To walk inside such a hollow building and have his trauma fill every open space until there’s no room left for Buck to breathe. He feels like a fraud for being here, like everyone who sees him will know he doesn’t belong.

Summary
“This is a riot, not Afghanistan,” Buck blurted.
“And I’m trained Army medic,” Eddie said, stepping forward. “This is just another battlefield with a whole lot of civilians caught up in the middle.”
Buck understood Eddie’s desire to jump in and help, felt it in his very bones, and a tiny part of him was screaming about rules and regulations, but then again, how often did he ignore those? “Well, you’re not going back there alone.”
