Summary
When Jaskier is called back to the court of Redania, he reluctantly goes. When he finds out that he's been called back to be married and bonded to an alpha that he's never met, let alone heard of, he decides that his presence might do better elsewhere.
If it had just been him, there would have been a minor scandal and things would have died down quickly enough - he was a fourth son, a male omega, not even good for heirs and thus less than valuable on the marriage market.
But it wasn't just him.
Melina de Roggeven, youngest daughter of Duke de Roggeven and the only eligible omega in their generation, had been at court to have her betrothal to the king's heir announced. And when Jaskier had shown up to her rooms, holding out a hand and promising to get her away from the nest of vipers that was the court, she'd only hesitated a second before she slid her hand into his.
Now they have to find somewhere safe to hole up until their hunters give up. North - where the Warlord holds sway and even Vezimir will tread lightly.
