Sighing, Tim rubs his face. Holidays in Gotham are terrible. Especially Halloween. This is only the first Saturday in October, so they should’ve had at least a few more weeks of relative peace. “I know we can never have a normal Halloween, not in this city, but does the crazy really have to start earlier and earlier every year?”
“Yep,” a deep voice says from right behind him. “Because Gotham’s an actual goddamn hellmouth.”
Tim’s pretty sure he manages not to jump. A loud snort followed by a low chuckle raises a flicker of doubt about that conclusion. Whatever. It’s like three in the morning, the Joker’s loose in Gotham, and there is an actual freaking vampire cleaning the bric-a-brac in the parlor right now—he’s allowed to be a little jumpy.
Stupid Jason.

The facts are this: Chuuya is a compassionate person. He cares too much and too fiercely. He gets attached easily and is undyingly loyal to the people around him. He also happens to be the strongest ability user this side of Japan since the turn of the century.
At age 16, Chuuya defects from the Port Mafia and drags his partner with him not so much kicking and screaming as silently begrudging, and the rest follow suit in time.Series

"/You know it's true, Chuuya/." Dazai snarls, his voice becoming deep, so deep it makes Chuuya's body tremble and his muscles suddenly relax. He can practically /feel/ the vampire's smile as he falls under his spell once more.
"Your old family is dead. I am the only creature /alive/ who will accept you for who you are now."
Chuuya sobs, a tear falling, and his body relaxes in Dazai's grip.
Dazai's grin widens.
"There is no running, Chuuya. You won't ever escape me."
