Wonwoo has learned to be a fighter. He knows how to sharpen his body like a blade and carry himself with enough strength to topple over buildings, if he so wanted. Fighting has become something he’s good at, even if he still doesn’t know how to feel about that fact.

“Well, yeah, Tokyo’s huge and Tokyo universities are huge.” Oikawa wanted to roll his eyes. “If you wanted a smaller city, you should’ve moved to one. Why else would you come here?”
“To play volleyball,” Ushijima said, having not picked up on the sarcasm.
“Other things are important, Ushiwaka-chan. Enjoying where you live, resting, and relaxing is just as important as being on the court,” Oikawa said and immediately felt that he sounded like a less angry Iwaizumi.

Now, Oikawa was expected to be a friend, tutor, and teammate to his lifelong rival. So Carlos walks past the couch in the hospitality section of the motorhome, three or four times a day, and thinks about the screeching drop in his stomach when Charles had gotten caught watching Carlos shrug out of his race suit and blushed at him. There were rules they implicitly agreed to, the first few weeks, when Carlos looked like Charles had just murdered his dog at every press conference.
When Patrick stands up, David is already sprinting past him; his long legs, clad in black athletic joggers, striding smoothly across the dirt of the infield until he reaches second base. The muscles of David’s back shift under his white t-shirt, and the mid-afternoon sunlight casts highlights and shadows that accentuate the pull of the fabric across David’s broad shoulders and the loose fit at his trim waist. It takes Patrick a moment to react and run after him, heading towards third on legs that he knows are strong and powerful, but not nearly as graceful as David’s. As he turns to face Patrick, David hurls a throw so fast and strong Patrick almost misses it.
Or, a college AU in which David Rose is just really fucking good at baseball.
