“So, you must be here about the job,” the old man goes on. “To tell you the truth, I’d just about given up on finding a decent nanny. When can you start?”
Taako stares at him. There’s an alarm klaxon blaring in the back of his brain, along with a shrill inner voice advising him to “abort, motherfucker, abort!”
In which Taako answers a general “help wanted” ad that actually changes his entire stupid life.

Summary
When Taako wakes up, he is not where he's supposed to be.
Why does he know this?
Everyone keeps telling him he's in heaven, and he knows fairly certainly, based on what kinds of people surround him, he was not meant to go to heaven.
After some convincing, panicking and threatening, his soulmate, Kravitz, reluctantly agrees to help him become a better person, and so ensues a wandering tripwire maze of Taako desperately trying to make himself belong, his two frazzled neighbors asking more questions than they should, and the whole afterlife being flipped upside down, because nobody here is who they claim they are.
But everything will work out one day, after all.
Because this is The Good Place!
And everything is fine. -

Taako is…
Taako is fucking tired.
He—look, he hadn’t even wanted there to be final exams at Taako’s Amazing School of Magick, but apparently just having kids duel each other for grades was, like, bad form or whatever. So here the fuck he is, three days before Candlenights, still at fucking work, grading fucking—grading research projects and semester tests and what-the-fuck-ever at—fuck—half past midnight.
So. Two days before Candlenights, actually.
Whatever. Who cares. Point is, he’s doing some teacher bullshit after midnight, when he should be at home in the arms of his loving boyfriend, in bed, asleep.

The noise was outside. If he looked for more than two seconds he could probably find a cricket. It was not a sound in his mind. It was quiet and calm. It wasn’t all-encompassing and inescapable, syncing to his heartbeat and overriding every instinct in him screaming to just stop, stay still, don’t unbuckle that, stop, stop, st-

Someone keeps drawing skeletons inside of all Taako’s street art.
He usually wouldn’t care about a fellow graf artist’s additions to his work, but these add-ons border on insulting. They both manage to elevate his work to new heights and make him seem like a complete poser, which is bullshit because Taako’s the best street artist Neverwinter has to offer and has been for seven years. This is his turf, goddamn it, and he’s not gonna let some upstart of a street artist tear it away from him. The tiny, well stenciled skeletons can only mean one thing: war.

Taako grows his hair out. Partly because he likes it long, partly because it’s important to Lup that they look different enough to not be mixed up. He doesn’t give a shit— but then again, Taako’s never given a shit about anything except Lup.
( Does Taako's name even mean anything without Lup's beside it? )

Summary
Living in the city had massive perks. For one, they didn't have to drive everywhere; there was usually something fun within walking distance. Even Angus' school was just down the street from their apartment. This restaurant that Carey picked out was three blocks away, practically under their feet. For one: b, they didn't have to worry about parking, an activity that tested Taako's patience even worse than walking among crowds.
Between the heat and the lunchtime rush, Angus figured nothing else would dare try Taako. Fate had another idea.

An encounter with a past lover, in poetic terms. Taako would just say, "He's lucky I had a kid with me, that stupid motherfucker!"
