Summary
Steve Rogers decided to retire from his jobs, from the army, bodyguarding and caretaking. He was done with it, enjoying staying at home, watering the plants and feeding the kitten, taking care of himself instead of having to watch other people's six. But he got a call from his former boss and was forced to go back into that life. Not only having to act as the secretary of defense's son bodyguard but as well as his caretaker, he finds out who the famous cult member, James Barnes, who has been credited with more than twenty assassinations really is.

“It’s not as though I’m suggesting anything of complete insanity,” huffs Loki, dropping his voice to a whisper. “I’m merely calling attention to the unoccupied Wilson nearby, lest our dear James find himself interested.” Barnes stiffens up, shoulders constricting the base of his neck.
“The only thing I’m finding myself interested in, is the end of this night,” he groans, shooting Loki a dirty glare, “and you shutting your mouth! Even if there were someone here I found interest in—and there isn’t—my first move would hardly be asking them to dance. This isn’t some fucking Georgian-Era ball.”
Sam lets the echo of the overheard conversation bounce around in his mind and wonders which 'Wilson' the Asgardian was talking about. There's no way they meant him, right?What the fuck?

Yes. Steve thinks. Sugar. Must go get Bucky a Coke. He walks to the other wall on rubbery legs, digs out two cans. Walks back. Bucky’s eyes are closed, head bent back at an odd angle. He looks like someone snapped him in half. Steve. Steve did.

They have never kissed like this. And Steve remembers every kiss: the secret stolen ones; the rushed and laughing ones; the crying, biting ones. He has both hands in Bucky’s hair now, pulling him in, trying to softly steer him. But Bucky is unwieldy.

You sniffed and got to your feet as he approached. He jutted his chin toward the box cradled against your chest, wordlessly asking for elaboration. You swallowed hard and opened the lid, showing him the logo on the manila folder.
A fucking red skull with six fucking tentacles.
Bucky gave you an exasperated look and exhaled through his nose, moving past you to open his front door. You followed after him and closed the door behind you. He removed his jacket and tossed it haphazardly over an armchair.
