Summary
Ritsu is a demon, Mao an angel. Mao is an overworked college student, Ritsu the barista at the local coffee shop his brother owns. Mao happens to love the coffee there and Ritsu grows fond of the angel that becomes a regular customer. Maybe Mao also grows fond of the sleepy demon serving him coffee and questionably looking but delicious sweets. They grow closer and closer despite being of different kinds, but doubt and a history of clashing angels and demons make them hesitate.
And the shift supervisor demon, Koga, is suffering.

“Maaakuunn~” Ritsu called quietly from the doorway of the balcony.
He had rolled over expecting to find the warmth of Mao only to find the bed empty and, wrapping the blanket around himself had gone straight to where he knew his boyfriend would be.
He knew that this time of the year was hard on Mao, and despite how much he loved sleep, he loved Mao just as much.
Yawning and still more than half asleep he slowly made his way over to the purplish red haired male, wrapping his blanketed arms around his waist and hiding his face in the back of the others neck.
“ it’s so early Maakun~” he mumbled “ come back to bed... pleaaaaseee.”

Mao finds them in the kitchen, sitting at the island, and looking over a magazine.
“My future husband’s gonna be a lawyer,” Ritsu whispers, frowning.
“Mine is going to be dead,” Anzu says, unsettled.
“What are you two doing?”
“A quiz,” she says as Ritsu holds up the magazine just a bit for Mao to see, “ to see what our future husbands’ careers are.” The brunette’s reply is accompanied by her chewing on a pencil.
“Where did you even get that?” Mao questions, sitting across from them.
“Teen magazine we saw at the store this morning.”
“Of course.”

Anzu spends the summer in what is Mao's summer home in SoCal. Only, summer ends and she's still there, and suddenly it's no longer Mao's summer home, it becomes her home too.Everything isn't what it seems either, whether it be cute blond waiters at diners (who enjoy watching Star Trek) or mysterious dark-haired boys who happen to ride a motorcycle (and agree to name kittens "Frida"), Anzu isn't prepared for light-hearted fun, and eventually, teenage angst.
Life's tough for teenagers, especially not-so-straight ones, but maybe with her friends, Anzu can make the best of it. One step at a time.
