Much to everyone's relief, the blast does not end up killing Soundwave.
But to less relief, Soundwave's hospital stay drags on longer and longer until his impatient support group start wondering if there's a way to speed this recovery along. A short cut, a treatment, a quick cure- who cares of the origin?
Besides, a camping trip into one of Cybertron's mythical region has never gone wrong in the past. There's nothing too bad waiting out there in the forests!
And if there is, and it just happens to hitch a ride back, well, good thing there's plenty of eager detectives on Cybertron ready to find out why all these corpses keep popping up around the city. -
