Summary
Lux is about to become Queen, bound in an unwavering union with newly found King Jarvan despite the recent mage rebellion. However, her loyalties are divided between cold and unforgiving Demacia, and Sylas. Equally cold and unforgiving.
For months, she has been smuggling mages out of Demacia, particularly young children. Everything changes one day, when it is announced that her wedding is less than a week away. And Demacian forces are about to descend upon Sylas's camp of mages.
Lux must choose. She can become the future of Demacia, or she can turn into the glimmer of hope that mages need in order to overcome the unfair politics of their country.

She was deemed the perfect golden child by her parents and the adults around her. She was what other children aimed to be, the model Crownguard. Her brother was much the same but he was still normal. His smiles and his actions were genuine. Lux's, on the other hand, were not. Only one person noticed.
Her uncle saw what others could not see, that everything she said and did was nothing but an act. He didn’t treat her any differently for that but he took her aside and explained that others would not be as lenient as him if they were to find out. He taught her how to refine her masks so no cracks were visible.
She was eight when she lost him and then ate him.
