Summary
Shouto can’t change who his father is and what he has done. The internal scars will always be there, and people will continue to make assumptions about him no matter what. But he chooses how to react to that. He’s the one in charge of his own actions, and will learn from his old man’s mistakes in order to better himself. He will show everyone that he is who he chooses to be. That he is not a replica of the flame hero, but a different person and hero altogether. However, that raises the question, who is he without Endeavor?

Moving into the dorms and taking the provisional license special course opens many doors for Shouto. Especially when two teachers take him out of Endeavor’s grasp, allowing him to finally breathe on his own. Through the help of said teachers and his found family in Class 1-A Shouto discovers who he truly is without his father’s judgement.

We never really got to see what happened during the provisional license special course. All we got was one episode and a picture with no context. I feel like we missed a lot of character development for Bakugou and Todoroki because of this, so I’m writing about it.

On Friday, Aizawa-sensei announced something that was met with euphoria by most of the class, especially the Bakusquad with the exception of Kacchan. From Monday to Friday, they’d only have half days and the rest should be dedicated to a project.
When Iida pointblank asked what the project consisted of, Aizawa-sensei grinned at the class. “I’m glad you asked and glad that I don’t have to bother with it. In honor of Class 1-A having to deal with the public earlier than expected, Nedzu has decided to hold a kind of ‘social media’ week, in which you have to communicate by only using various social media accounts. Or rather he took the week out of the third year curriculum and decided to put you through it now.”
Izuku watched the resulting fallout. Half of the class seemed to celebrate the announcement laughing about it being easy-peasy but the other half was doing the same thing Izuku was. They were watching Aizawa-sensei, whose grin was growing, and awaiting the catch.

So, suffice to say that Shouto is aware of his use as a tall person. But one thing he had never considered it for before is affection.
He has watched Midoriya and Uraraka clamber all over Iida for several months now. He has watched how Shinsou folds his arms atop the heads of Midoriya or Kaminari or, if he's in a particularly "shit-eating mood" he will lean atop Bakugou's head or shoulders to warrant a lot of explosions and yelling that most of the class seem to find hilarious. He has watched Yaoyorozu drape herself over Jirou in the most elegant of ways, humming along with whatever the shorter girl may be playing on her guitar.In other words, he does understand that being tall can allow for certain types of affection. But he had not related that to himself.
Until now.
(Shouto doesn't know how to be a friend nor how to be affectionate, but he does know that he wants to try and dammit I love this soft, shy, awkward boy so very much-)
