Ciel is a fledgling demon, Angelica/Aurora is still an angel- never Fallen, Sebastian is the same charming and sadistic demon we all know and love. Fifty or so years after the tragic events in which Ciel became a demon and voiding his contract with Sebastian, essentially binding the demon to him, the Demon Prince Malphas aka Sebastian Michaelis, was exiled from Hell, banished to wander the mortal realm for all of eternity. Angelica herself has been exiled from Heaven after escaping with the help of Malphas. Some many years later, the three reside on a farming estate in Austria, nearby the Schon Bruhn palace.
