Summary
Monday morning, two hours into their brainstorming session into how to rescue Daisy from administrative labor, the Archives received a coffin.
Peter Lukas has taken over the Institute, and Melanie has two months to bully him out. Normally Melanie's the world expert in bullying, but this time it may be easier said than done. With Martin gone insane from bloodlust, Daisy isolated as Peter Lukas' administrative assistant, and Basira pining like a useless wreck, Melanie can't rely on her friends. And when she fishes up an old nemesis from the bottom of a coffin, Melanie finds herself fighting single-handedly against loneliness, nihilism, and smarmy old men.
In which the Archives discover the power of love, friendship, and incredible violence. And in which Melanie discovers the value of trying.

Jon tries to force the Spiral to send him back, but the Sprial's corridors never twist things quite the way you want them to. Back in 1996, Elias has no idea why or how the Eye made such a powerful Avatar out of an 8 year old, especially when said 8 year old doesn't actually know he has any powers at all. Clearly such a child cannot be left outside the Institute's care.

Summary
Au where an extremely cursed American wraps various archival assistants and characters in a blanket, and refuses to let them die. Because i care about doomed characters and because i can have a self indulgent au, as a treat.
--"Instinct is, after all, a funny thing. Very informative, but not really descriptive when you need it to be. It tends to tell you just enough for you to know something is wrong, and then it cuts out to force you into a decision."

Jon goes to the Magnus Institute, where he plans to give his statement about Mr Spider. It would help if people stopped cutting in, being too talkative, rude, making noise, plotting and dying while he did so. Thank you very much.

“In the lair of the Harvest-woman, there is a phoenix,” his mother tells him. “Bring me a portion of its fire, and I will forgive you.”
It is a harsh price to pay for the chance to leave, as slim as that chance is, now. The Harvest-woman’s web stretches far and wide beyond her lair, and she is said to strangle any and all who fall into it, for no reason but to see what they look like as they die.

Summary
Michael had been fresh out of university when he was employed at The Magnus Archives. He had been eighteen, but he had not been stupid. He had not been so innocent and naive as his coworkers and employers took him for. So for years, he knew what the world really was, what they had all hidden from him, and that had not changed a damn thing in the end.
A character study of Michael Shelley, and if people had only thought he was left in the dark.
