1 - 20 of 68 Works in Sam Winchester is Not Amused
He watches from behind the wall as Dean creeps slowly down the stairs, ensuring that his footfalls are almost silent. Stranger still is huge bag strapped to his back… if Sam didn’t know better he’s say its… moving?
“Dean!” he snaps, letting his worry show, “Cass just… vanished in a plume of … trench-coat and before that… I saw something… I don’t even understand this.” He sputters.
Impassive, Dean just glances towards the exit.
“Did you hear me?” he tries again.
“Yup.” Dean assures, still glancing at the door, “Heard you like a bell. We’ll talk in the morning Sammy. Night.”
“Night?” he parrots. “Cass is in trouble.”
“Cass is a um, heh.” He laughs, “Big boy.”
Why isn’t he doing anything? And what’s in that damn bag?
Sam wrenches it open.
Sam takes a good long look at the child who now sits happily at their table. Glow-y blue eyes, hair dark as night, an unflinching stare that seems to be directed only at Dean, chewing on Dean’s index finger like it’s candy. With jerky motions he wraps the trench-coat around the child, still unable to reconcile what he knows with what he sees.
Dean laughs, “Now you really are a baby in a trench-coat.” Cass bites down.
Wordlessly, Castiel drapes the blanket over Dean’s shoulders, smiling gently, and patting his shoulder. He’d have better luck with a giant, wet boulder.
“Warmth is a necessity.” The angel chastises. This isn’t ending well, is what Bobby surmises.
“You didn’t seem to think much about warmth when I found you on Baby, naked except for that blanket of bees. FYI they didn’t give you all that much coverage, if you know what I mean."
“Dean.” He says brightly, “Did you know that looking at someone’s genitals is a common sign of romantic interest or infatuation.” How the hell is Bobby in this situation?
“Dean!” protests the angel, as Dean lays down. Bobby leans against the table. Oh this is going to be good, he thinks, if by good you mean bad – where everyone will suffer. “You haven’t eaten dinner yet. If you go to bed hungry you stomach will produce extra acid and you can get a stomach ulcer.”
“Well Cass.” Dean bites out… drily… mockingly, “That’s what a have you for. The angel of no conflict and stomach advice.” If only that insult is were enough to suffice.
Bobby, while tethered to the flask, vows to make these to idjits drop their stoic masks.
You say you like the wind blowing through your hair
Come on, roll with me 'til the sun goes down
Say you wanna hit the highway while the engine roars
Well, come on, roll with me 'til the sun goes down
That Texas sun
Ever since Cas and Dean tied the knot, they have been driving Sam *insane* with their inappropriately located and utterly spontaneous make-out suggestions. So when he finds them looking at filming locations for the movie "Tombstone" in Arizona, he suggests they take some time (and give him a break!) and road-trip it.
Dean plans the route and takes the long way 'round through Texas - all the more time to spend with his angel, and show him some sights along the way.
- Part 3 of To Infinity And Beyond
Sam’s seem some strange things in his life.
A werepire… a Jefferson-Star-Ship.
Fanfiction about him and Dean in some seriously convoluted positions.
Enough rotting corpses to drive the average human completely insane.
And yet… somehow… finding Dean propped with one leg on a chair and Cass entire head between his legs is the cheery on top the cake.
It’s not like this is a public space or anything right?
Wrong! It’s the kitchen. Of all places and Sam feels like the biggest creep alive, because in those seconds of shock, as his mind begins to process what he’s seeing, he remains completely immobilised. It’s like all the bandwidth from his normal functions has been entirely converted into the energy needed to process this – this – occurrence.
Dean and Cass.
Cass and Dean.
Worst of all are Dean’s commands. “Go up Cass. Not down.”
“Oh my God!” he shrieks.
Dean’s seen some weird shit. Literally.
From faeces plastered on walls to in a truck stop toilet bowl. But never – never – has Dean seen something as weird as an angel boiling pizza.
“Cass I think-”
“No.” Cass cut him off, whipping back around to tentatively poke the slice with a fork.
Dean pities the poor slice as it turns soggy in the boiling, bubbling water.
“Dean please.” Cass says, waving the fork at him.
Sneezing, Dean almost loses an eye, but Cass doesn’t seem to notice, as he continues to glare down at Dean. “See.” He says haughtily. “You are sick. And I am taking care of you.”
The unmistakable pride in his voice is the only think keeping Dean from complaining. Cass wants to take care of him. So, he stows his complaints and watches as Cass mutilates the pizza slice, flipping it over, so all the toppings float into the water.
When Cass places the pizza and about half of the boiled water into a bowl Dean can’t help but jab, “And what do you call this dish Cass.”
“I- I made it especially for you.” Cass informs him with pride. “It’s a combination of your mother’s tomato rice soup, which always make you happy and pizza. I call it rizzoup.”
Castiel stares at himself in the mirror while Dean fumbles around with the tapered part of his coat. He suddenly feels like a penguin… waddling around in a black and white suit.
“You look sharp.” Dean observes.
A smile flits across his face. “Thank you Dean. You look handsome too.”
“Well, we have Sam to thank.” He murmurs. “I still don’t get why he’s being so secretive and formal. I swear man, I saw him sneaking around dressed as a father. Who does he think he is… the pope?”
As Dean slips out of his room, Castiel presses his hand against his pocket, ensuring that his present is still there.
One hand reaches into his pocket and he tries to slip on an easy smile. “I have something for you Dean.”
Castiel is just retrieving the ring as Sam announces his presence loudly. It’s enough to startle an already frazzled Castiel into dropping the ring. He struggles to bend, but manages to manoeuvre himself onto one knee to pick it up.
He’s broken out of his musings by Sam’s exclamation. “Holy shit!”
“Yes.” Is all Dean says.
“Well this is entirely unnecessary.” Sam says flipping open a box with two gold rings. “Because you just proposed to Dean.”
Cass’ nose is almost poking Dean’s eye out but his face is the picture of concentration as he pinches Dean’s nose between his thumb and fore-finger, his other hand covering Dean’s mouth completely.
“Okay. What the hell?” he announces.
The thumb war is explainable, the twister was actually nice and though the dancing was strange, it has nothing on this.
“You two having a staring contest?” Sam wonders.
“No Sam.” Cass explains, picking up the stop watch. “Dean said he could hold his breath for two minutes. I didn’t believe him.”
“Ha-ha! Sucker!” Dean wheezes as the watch beeps.
“Though,” Cass rubs his chin in consideration, “A staring contest is a very good idea Dean.”
Then they both sit pull up a chair and sit, bending forward to rest their elbows on their knees in a way that pushes their faces even closer.
“Let’s begin.” Cass announces.
Dean nods once, then they stare.
By now Sam should be used to it. But as bad as they may be, they’ve never stared at each other for over two minutes before.
Sam is flabbergasted.
Cass is engineering these… games, in order to get closer to Dean. Physically closer.
And Sam wants to know why.
Sam scours the library. If Dean and Cass really had been working on mending his wings, there would have left some sort of trail. And he’s right; bookmarked in angel lore is a segment on restoring and replenishing angel grace.
*Generally to restore angelic grace, an angel would remain among members of their garrison in the Silver City; ideally, close proximity to those angels with higher rank and thus power is recommended. Re: Archangels.*
Sam sighs. Well, that’s out. Heaven is closed, all the angels have fallen and all the archangels are either dead of in the cage.
He skims ahead.
Sam’s mouth falls open.
Well that’s the last thing he ever expected to see.
Sam puts on some holy fire glasses and it allows him to see his world in a new perspective. Namely, the one where Castiel's wings are almost constantly wrapped around Dean.
1. The colour of his soul
2. His green eyes
3. The way his smile has crow’s feet
4. The way he obsesses over pie and bacon
5. The way he calls me buddy and pats my shoulder – even though I’m an angel
6. His aptitude level
7. ‘Baby’ – that car is almost a part of him
9. His cooking
10. His disposition
11. His taste in music and movies (Especially the mix tape he gave me.)
12. The way he looks at me
Dean finds a list of all the things Cass doesn’t like about it. It’s getting closer to Christmas so he wants the angel to stick around. The only logical thing to do is to fix everything on the list.
Castiel feels lonely and unwanted after leaving the bunker. What has always made him happiest. He reads online that you can make yourself happier by making a list about the things you love. Dean is never supposed to find it.
Misunderstandings and Christmas fluff galore.
Bobby Singer kept his daughter in hiding for a reason. A hunters life is never easy and the more things... people you love, means more that can be ripped away. Losing one son and a two wives was already hard enough on him. Ellie Singer was raised not sure of who she was and what she was meant for, hiding away in a remote mountain town since she was 17 years old. But the past come knocking when her father shows up with two hunters who are gravely injured. Putting her at risk of exposure in order to save ones life. But he's been gone, barely knows his daughter. He's faced with the woman she's become, realizing the dark destiny he has tried to hide her from might be closer than he ever thought.
(Sounds like it's about Bobby but meh its a Reader/Dean story)
“Cass said yes.” Dean chirps happily. He leans closer to Sam, “when I asked him to marry me.”
Choking, Sam gives him an incredulous look.
“I know right.” Dean chuckles, “It only take you almost killing a guy to realise that you’re in love.”
“I don’t think this is a good idea.”
Sam’s voice is choked and Dean is suddenly pissed again. “You can’t even be happy for us. After all we’ve been through; we finally found something worth living for.”
“You’re right Dean. I’m sorry.”
“Sammy why are you crying?”
What if Dean didn't miss and instead of stabbing the book, he stabs Cass?
What if his mind blocks out the trauma leading Dean to believe Cass is still alive... just invisible?

The way Sam complains about the weird nature documentaries on his Netflix profile, the slight creaking of the chair next to him at dinner. The way there’s always a Cass sized shape at the end of his bed.
It’s like he’s Scrooge and the ghost of Angel Past is haunting him
“Oh my God, Dean!” Sam shouts, jarring him from his thoughts, “Don’t move! The painkillers are floating! Grab some iron, I’ll get the salt!”
Sam screams at him, but Dean just sits there in a trance.
“You can see that?” he asks softly.
Sam hauls him away and Dean just stares as the pack falls flat.
“I don’t understand how a ghost got in here.” Sam sounds exasperated, “I thought they all got sucked into hell. Dean? Say something!”
“There’s a ghost.” Sam huffs, “That’s why my Netflix account is acting up and why our things are going missing.”
Dean clears his throat, trying to force the words out. He thought he had been hallucinating for days, but if Sam can see it too… “It’s not a ghost.” He says slowly.
Dean can barely speak, but he only needs one word: “Cass.”
In a split second Cass appears before them... he hadn’t left.
He remains paralysed, dumbstruck. “You stayed.”
Mary was being insufferable.
Sam was taking it out on Dean.
Becky was apparently putting herself in charge of wedding planning.
All his plans were going to shit.
What else could possibly go wrong?

- Part 2 of Spn: Mini-Tricksters
The boys and Castiel meet on a slim chance while working a big case in Toledo, Ohio. The town is infested with vamps and they need all the hunters they can get. But Castiel hates hunters, despite being one.
Dean almost instantly falls in love. Almost. The thing is, Cas is an asshole who only cares for himself and Dean, well... Dean is also an asshole, in his own way. They fight and argue but they always make up and stay together.
They're family... They can't leave each other.
Castiel Novak is a normal hunter. He stays with his best friend, Gabe, at his bar. He does normal hunter things. Fights monsters, hunts ghosts, burns bones. Normal hunter stuff.
The Winchester brothers are normal hunters. They fight ghouls and ghosts, werewolves and vampires. They fight and argue like any other brothers.
They're just a normal group of people and this?
When Crowley takes Aziraphale to an alternate universe they accidentally take a slight wrong turn and end up falling out of a Dean and Sam's motel closet.
Dean is a mess. He can barely keep his crap together well enough to hunt, and Sam is definitely starting to suspect that something might be wrong. Cas is perfectly content to pretend everything's fine, while avoiding him like the plague. Meanwhile, what should have been a simple hunt turns into a complete Fiasco. Dean has never been more scared in his life, and he might actually give up on living if he loses his angel - unless they find their way to each other through the nightmares and emotional hangups. Sam just wishes Gabe would pick up his damned candy wrappers.

Sam's brothers are insufferable. Seriously.
