Summary
It was a simple scene – just your ordinary, average, run of the mill multi-vehicular accident. It should have been nothing. It was nothing. Until a runaway drunk driver on a bridge changed everything.
And Eddie, working at dispatch, could only listen as the man he loves is washed away by the element that seems determined to take him to a watery grave, one way or another.

Summary
“Well it made me think, you know, about you.” Buck raised his eyebrows at that. Eddie turned to Buck, abandoning his search for a bottle opener. “I mean, the whole leaving thing, thinking that people leave because others have in the past, is that why you…you know…”

Or, my take on a 7x1 coda.

Summary
And the thing is Buck has gotten pretty good at compartmentalising over time, except that is, when it comes to Eddie. His senses heightened tenfold, love spilling out of him in droves. He'll do anything, anything to rid him of that fear.
So he asks, "What can I do?"
"Therapy?" Eddie suggests.
Buck almost laughs, but instead says, "I'll go if you go."
Because he had fully expected him to be chicken shit, to disagree, and instead Eddie, the bastard, replies, "Deal."
Or Buck stays silent about forty minutes in 2018 and deals with the butterfly effect years later.

Buck has a nightmare about losing Eddie.

"I need you."
"What's wrong?" Eddie asked immediately. "Are you hurt?"
"No," Buck said, reassuring Eddie even as he whispered to himself, yes.
"Do you want me to come over?" Eddie asked. "Chris is asleep, but I can put him in the car and be there in ten minutes."
"Please," he whispered. "If… it's not too much."
"I'm on my way."

Summary
“You can’t.”
“What?” Buck must have misheard Chris. Had to have. There’s no way that Christopher just told him not to be in love with Eddie. That he’s not allowed to be in love with him. “Chris, buddy, what do you mean?”
“I mean, you can’t love my dad. You can’t be in love with him. And you definitely can’t tell him you love him.”
Or: Chris tells Buck he doesn’t want him and Eddie to date each other. Feelings are hurt, miscommunications happen, and there’s lots of sad Buck.

Summary
Eddie is in a relationship with Marisol. Buck wants Eddie. Eddie wants both.
----
It was a Friday night at the Diaz House, and it felt just like old times. Christopher had given them both a hug and headed off to bed, Eddie had produced a couple of beers from the fridge, and Buck had chosen a movie. He’d threatened to put Barbie on, but Eddie had told him if he dared, he’d be thrown out. So he settled on an It marathon. And he didn’t know how it happened, but one minute they were watching the movie, the next, Eddie’s lips were on his, kissing him desperately, as if he was starving and Buck was a massive steak......“Fuck, you look so good.” Eddie murmured the first words he’d said since he’d pounced on Buck. “I bet you taste so good.” Buck was powerless to stop him. This is what he wanted, what he’d wanted for years. The thought that this was wrong played in the back of his mind, but he reasoned it was Eddie’s problem, not his, and he seemed happy enough to make it.

“I do have parents who love and treasure me.”
“If you call me daddy again-”
“Oh my god, Eds,” he felt heat rising up his neck, shaking his head wildly as the memories began flying around his head.“It was one time and I was experimenting! No. I meant, Bobby and Athena.”
Underneath, Eddie nodded, his hands holding Buck still as he easily agreed to the statement.“I think they would agree with you, sweetheart.”

Summary
The loneliness within came out of him in strings, wrapping his bones in the misery, yet too entangled to be fixed, and too clear to be seen. Wrapped so tight they carved into his bones, leaving dents; damaged but never broken.
A dive into Buck’s loneliness after the lawsuit, and how Eddie picks up the pieces.

Summary
“Why are you the way you are?” he asks and Buck freezes in his movements. Eddie sounds serious — like he’s genuinely upset. With Buck?
“What, um,” Buck tries, clearing his throat awkwardly, a sinking feeling growing in his gut. “What do you mean?”
“‘s fucking annoying,” Eddie slurs, rolling his eyes again and leaning back to look at the ceiling as if it’s something interesting. “”’nd exhausting.”
Buck’s heart drops, remembering Eddie’s words in the grocery store all those years ago. Eddie just yawns and closes his eyes with a sigh.
“D’you know how exhausting it is to be around you?”
—
Or: Eddie is annoyed with Buck for being so very kissable but his drunk self isn't the best at phrasing things.
