It's spring of 735 PCE. Two full years before Darrow O'Lykos is drafted to the Institute. Nearly seven years before the start of the Rising. Eagle Rest stands tall on the shoulders of Olympus, yet unmarred by the decades of war to come, the still proud home to the gens Bellona. Following a string of bad luck, it is here Masae I'tsai finds herself, miles from her decrepit Agea apartment, in the service of the Martian house. Now, she doesn't know it yet, but this particular summer is set to be thoroughly life-changing. Because she's about to meet one apex asshole who she just can't seem to shake. And it turns out he might not be so much of an asshole after all.
Go figure.
