Summary
He was a problem child. His parents were very clear. He was a waste of space and a failure. Daniel’s death would forever be his fault. There was no way he needed to bother Athena and Bobby. He just needed to be quiet and keep his head down until Maddie came. Everything would be okay then.
Maddie was coming back. Maddie was going to take him home. She had too. She might have forgotten his birthday but she wouldn't leave him with these strangers.
Evan changed into his pajamas before pulling out the old teddy bear that once had belonged to Maddie. He whispered, “If she won’t come back for me, she’ll come back for you, right?”
Or AU where Athena and Bobby are a fourteen year old Buck's foster parents.

Summary
This is a coda/what if fic of the Dispatch Fire. It's mainly Bobby, Buck, and May centered. The whole FireFam is there as well. This takes place during the collapse and the after. We're going to follow the FireFam through the aftermath and recovery of the Dispatch fire. In this fic we will also see how the Grant-Nash's have adopted Buck into their family and how he's there with them and for them every step of the way.
Fic is not beta-d. All mistakes are my own.

Summary
Bobby threw himself into action, he bolted out the door and across the hall barrelling into the restroom and the nearest cubicle. His knees hit the floor with a sickening crack that reverberated up his spine as the contents of his stomach finally made its way to the surface. He retched and heaved until he had nothing left to give then collapsed against the wall beside him resting his head against the cold tile.
His chest heaved and his heart hurt and in a room, somewhere down the hall, a ventilator beeped rhythmically as the man occupying the bed slept.

Summary
Bobby Nash wasn’t sure what he had expected from his first foster child. Maybe he thought Evan would be some sort of teenage delinquent. Maybe the kid would think he was too old to be parented or be mean to May and Harry. Maybe he would run away or try to get moved to a different home. Maybe he would be nothing but trouble and make Bobby and Athena regret fostering in the first place. They should have just stuck to the plan and gotten a younger kid like Athena had wanted.
But what Bobby didn’t expect was for the social worker to show up at their house at nine o’clock at night. He didn’t expect for the kid by her side to simultaneously look way too young for 14 and at the same time so much older. Evan was curled in on himself, making him seem far smaller than he should be but the fear and wariness in his eyes was something far too mature for him. Bobby didn’t expect for his first foster child to stand there on his porch, shivering in the pouring rain with nothing but a sweatshirt and a blooming black eye on his face. But what he certainly didn’t expect was for the kid to worm his way into his heart so quickly.

Buddie Bingo Fill - Athena Grant
“No he isn’t. He never has been because in your eyes he failed to save the son you wanted,” Athena says. “No, that lovely man is not your son. Maddie raised him, took care of his wounds. And while she did leave him in your care, you all but neglected him.”
Buck is still stunned and Eddie takes his hand whispering something to him.
“I carried him. I gave birth to him!” Margaret cries and tries to get closer to Athena only to be stopped by her husband.

Summary
Buck lasts exactly 3 months back with the 118 A Shift. A total of 53 and a half shifts, all of which he spent doing chores and being ignored or glared at. Funnily enough its not a remark or a look or even something bad happening that tips him over the edge. It’s also not Captain Martinez’ offer to join B-shift or her gentleness with him. Rather it’s a note left in his locker and a container of tetelas in the fridge. One of the first real acts of kindness he’d received in 3 months. All of it from a stranger that calls him Blue eyes.

"I was Captain once," Chimney grinned into the camera lens, "Wasn't much liked."
"I wanted to rip those stupid glasses off of you and shove them were the sun-" The camera quickly moved off of Buck before he could finish his sentence.
"Weren't you the Captain when that kid Freddy blew up that fire truck?" Craig asked.
And oh boy, that was the wrong thing to ask. In a flash the entire fire department was holding back a furious Eddie.
"¡Déjame ir! ¡Voy a matarlo!"

Summary
The walls were closing in but he wasn’t strong enough to hold them back. As much as he wanted to clean up the mess he'd made of his life he just couldn’t find the strength. There was no way out... it was just too late. There was only one thing left to do.
He tidied the apartment as best he could, donated his clothes to goodwill, emptied his fridge and gave the leftovers to the homeless. All that was left was the hardest part. Writing the letter... The last piece of him his family would have, but they probably wouldn't want. He grabbed the pen and paper and began.
