"So you're going to stay with him and wait with the hope that one day there will be a magical moment when you'll see him and it will all make sense."
That was probably what she had thought she was going to do, even though she hadn't put it into words, the way Zuko did just now. "What if it does?" Her voice is small.
His isn't. "What if it doesn't?"

Summary
Zuko smiles at her again. It’s a bright, shiny, wonderful thing that makes his eyes twinkle. A child of Agni, as his people would say; one who shall light the way by the sheer force of his grin alone.
Ridiculous. Absurd. Beautiful. Katara has to squash the brief, incessant urge to freeze the rice and dab the starchy ice against her searing face.
“Okay,” he replies, and he just keeps looking at her, chopsticks hanging limp from his fingers. “We’re a team, Katara. It’s as simple as that.”Katara likes Zuko.
Like, really, really likes Zuko. -

Inaction always favors the side of the aggressor. A lesson that Aang is learning, even though action requires violence.
The monks taught him that all life is sacred- even the Fire Lord's-- but everyone, even his past lives, even his son, are urging him to kill Ozai in the name of peace. A darker version of the end of the 100 year war.

Summary
"You didn’t kill that man … why not?”
Because she wouldn’t. It wasn’t because she was fundamentally good and infallible, and it wasn’t because she was weak. She wouldn’t, because that was not who she was.
It felt like a revelation somehow.
But the world didn’t stop and applaud. The night didn’t hold its breath. The fire burned on, eating away at kindling.
Or, Zuko and Katara, after the Southern Raiders, finally have a conversation.
