The Many Oddities Of Mr. Sims by SurrealSupernaturalist

Summary
We all have those high school stories. The time someone climbed on top of the lockers at lunch break. The time teachers thought you and your friends were gambling, but you were just trying to order pizza. The time it was bucketing down with rain, and you were getting wet anyway so you went fuck it, and ended up walking into the computer lab soaking wet.
The time you had a teacher that can command the attention of any student no matter how unruly, a teacher with scars and a teacher who never ate lunch with the rest of the faculty.

Ko digs another coaster out of her bag and places it on Mr. Sims' desk. He watches it for a moment before looking up at her silently.
“Miss James?”
It’s kind of adorable how confused he looks.
“It’s for friends.” Is what she says instead, and refuses to elaborate.

Summary
Lost and alone at the end of the world, Jon decides to try one last idea. It goes wrong, as his ideas usually do, when both the Web and the Spiral decide to interfere with what he's doing. For once the disaster goes his favor. Mostly.
He wouldn't have chosen to go back in time to when he was eight years old. He certainly wouldn't have chosen to catch Elias freaking Bouchard's attention before he's had a chance to do anything. And he cannot believe that his luck is so monumentally bad that he gets adopted by the man who wants to use him to end the world.
Jon has to figure out how to keep Elias away, while saving his friends and the world. And hopefully growing old enough that he can go anywhere on his own and be taken seriously.

Summary
“Georgie?” Melanie’s voice creeps high with fear, and for once, Georgie wishes she could feel afraid. She hates to leave Melanie alone like this, solitary in her fear. She searches desperately for words to soften the blow, but can’t find any that make the situation gentler or easier to face. “Georgie, please tell me what’s going on.”
“I think…” Georgie hesitates, bites her bottom lip. Georgie is not afraid, but she is confused, and she is angry and upset and a million other feelings running tumultuous inside her that she’s never had to name before. “Melanie, I - I think the world just ended.”-
The world ends. Melanie and Georgie figure out what comes next.

Summary
When the sky goes wrong and the world breaks around him, when the good cows mutate frightening and decidedly bad, when his mind and heart and being recoil from fear, Martin Blackwood thinks, stupidly and somewhat predictably, of T. S. Eliot. Of “The Hollow Men”. Of this is the way the world ends.
Except, for all that beautiful poetry, Eliot was wrong, because the world doesn’t end with a bang, sure, but it doesn’t end with a whimper, either. It ends with the distant-yet-deafening voice of the man Martin loves shouting through a ragged, wild throat--I open the door.
(The world ends, Jon shatters, and Martin tries to fix it. The house tries, too, in its own way.)

Summary
The two them spend their first two days in the cabin cleaning, and Jon almost forgets about the bone, hidden in plain view on the mantelpiece. He spots it occasionally and it always brings a weird smile to his face, one he's been able to hide from Martin so far.
It's just. It's silly and weird and a little morbid, but there's humour in that too. He doesn't think he'll ever be able to explain the joke, but maybe that's part of why it's so funny to him. It's inexplicable.

Summary
Rosie works every weekday and this week is no different. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, all the same daily grind.
The world ends on Thursday.
She still goes to work. It isn't that different, really, when you think about it. Some terrible presence watching your every move, a discrete nervous breakdown during lunch. Answering emails in the afternoon. Being forced to watch the suffering of others in a similar but separate position as yourself. All the same, really.
Rosie misses the sun.
She never would have predicted this.

Summary
Ko likes to collect things. Mostly, though, she collects novelty mugs. Mugs that are heavier than they should be, mugs that contain an ocean, mugs that follow you around the house. If it's strange, if it's weird, if it's sideways from reality, Ko will take it off your hands.
If you still have them, that is.
