Summary
The Clone Wars have stretched on far too long, and both sides are eager to see an end to the violence and the start of a new time of peace across the galaxy. Despite those who would sabotage any attempts to end the war in the name of their own personal gain, peace negotiations finally bore fruit and the end of the war is finally within reach. However, in order to cement the end of the war, terms of a set of arranged marriages between key Republic planets and key Separatist planet royalty. Among them, Queen Padmé Amidala of Naboo is arranged to be married to Prince Anikin Skywalker of Mustafar, adopted son of the Mustafarian King.
However, when the young prince arrives to meet his future wife for the first time, it is a member of her royal guard that captures his heart's attention.

In the hostile world of the Soul Society, the masses of impoverished Rukongai citizens are either lucky enough to be born in the safer districts closer to the Seireitei or unlucky enough to be born in the later districts where hollow attacks flourish and nobody is unarmed. Alternatively, you can find yourself in-between in a state where you have no protection from independent ruffians, little support from the Shinigami, and frequent attacks. Yumiko Nishimura whose name was given and not taken, is part of the latter who somehow become so unlucky as to encounter one of the greatest powers Hueco Mundo have to offer early in life and then survive to seek vengeance.
From the prologue onwards, we follow this unfortunate soul who must endure and rise above an average life for the purposes of justice, independence, and...some other things. Does she really even know what she's doing and why? Guess you'll just have to find out.
The Prologue or "Act 0" is semi-optional. It contains valuable information, background, and side-stories; but it's not mandatory to enjoy the primary plot. The plot and developments overall are rather slow, so be patient.
