Summary
After Zuko's Agni Kai with Ozai and he learns of his banishment, Zuko flees the Fire Nation afraid, confused, and alone, leaving his uncle behind who has a chance to grow close to Azula. Zuko joins the Freedom Fighters claiming to be a nonbender from the Earth Kingdoms, growing in confidence in himself. When it is reveled that he is a firebenders, Jet is forced to understand not all members of the Fire Nation are war mongers and both boys are significantly less angsty when the Gaang shows up. Summary
Firebenders’ skin doesn’t burn easily. Fire Lord Ozai knows this.
When Crown Prince Zuko kneels before him with tears streaming down his face, the Fire Lord understands that it will take a considerable amount of effort to brand him.
It would be shameful for a crown prince to bear the mark of a coward, after all. A banished prince, on the other hand-
Well, if he survives long enough for it to scar, that is. Ozai is indifferent to either outcome.

Summary
Zuko knows it was a mistake, but it comes out of his mouth anyway, and somewhere down the line everyone thinks he and Sokka are dating, which was not his goal with trying to come out to his nation, but now it's happened and he has no idea what to do about it.
He expects Sokka, when he returns, to be mad about it, or to laugh it off and correct everyone's misguided opinions. The last thing he expects is Sokka to suggest they run with it, maintain Zuko's precarious reputation as best they can. They spend most of their time together, anyway, what's the harm in having to pretend to be a couple for that time?
A lot, it turns out.

Summary
Following the end of the war, the gaang splits up to continue their lives in times of peace. With everyone going their own ways and Toph the only one still at the Fire Nation place (as she didn't want to return home) becomes closer friends with Zuko during this time as she decides how to pass on the skill of metal bending. She refuses to leave him alone as she watches him sink into depression at the idea of being abandoned by everyone again. Considering they have one eye and two braincells that Zuko doesn't know how to use and Toph has never tired to use between them, their friendship causes mishaps as well as growth and support as they visit each other on various occasions usually resulting in Toph making a lot of enemies as she tries to drag the Fire Lord away from his duties. Then mix a solid amount of Zuko angst into that and here we go, this thing.
Zuko and Toph just vibe in this and have no thoughts head empty, they have the very close sibling dynamic, not dating. In which Zuko has far too much trauma and receives love and affection from his odd group of friends and a therapist because lets be honest, he needs one.

Summary
Zuko is an omega.
The fire prince is babbling, trying to insist he’s harmless. Sokka doesn’t believe it; time after time Zuko has proven just how horrible he is. There’s no reason they should believe him. The truth is as obvious as the cloying scent in the air. Zuko found out Aang is alive and decided it was the perfect opportunity to revive the time honored hobby of chasing them across the world.
So no, Sokka doesn’t believe him.

Summary
“Stop doing that,” Zuko snapped.
“Doing what?”
“You go all silent. It’s like you’re afraid of me.”
“I’m not-“
“You are. It’s written all over your face. I’m not stupid, Sokka.”
“Sometimes people are afraid of things they don’t understand.”
Or:
Five years after the war, Zuko loses his childhood memories. He forces Katara to erase them, in fear that his past will haunt his life forever. He doesn’t remember his father, or his sister. He doesn’t remember how he got his scar. He doesn’t remember why he he’d been banished. He doesn’t want to remember.
Meanwhile, Sokka arrives at the palace to start his new role as Ambassador to the Southern Water Tribe, and his old feelings for Zuko resurface once again.
(And he has no clue what to do about it).

AU: In which everyone is born with flowers in their souls. As they get hurt, the flowers are stolen and instead given to whoever hurt them. If they run out, they become basically living corpses. Zuko loses his last one and Iroh is desperate to save him. That's when Zuko meets Sokka, who might just be his cure.
Note: if you happen to have seen this prompt before, it's because I used the exact same one for an old work by the same name. I decided to scrap that and completely rewrite it with different characters, so enjoy and please don't yell at me :)

Summary
Zuko doesn’t want to play some stupid Earth Kingdom game.
Sokka pouts at him and calls him a jerkbender with no sense of fun. He rolls his eyes and continues petting Momo from his perch sitting against the temple’s pai sho table.
Suki puts her head on Sokka’s shoulder as she hugs him from behind and says he doesn’t have to play if he doesn’t want to. Zuko nods gratefully at her and closes his eyes as he lays his head back against the table.
“If he’s too scared of a little kissing game, well...” Zuko’s eyes shoot open again to glare at her, and she smirks at him with one eyebrow raised.
Damn it.

Summary
It starts like this: Zuko’s head is fucking pounding like it’s the morning after the Sun Festival, except he doesn’t open his eyes to find his friends in various piles around him, as tragically hungover as him. Instead, his eyelashes unstick slowly and painfully, and with the sunlight and the shock of green above him before he snaps his eyes shut again comes a young, mournful voice.
“—we knew each other back then,” Aang is saying, from somewhere high and to Zuko’s left, “do you think we could’ve been friends?”
or,
Zuko stages a coup, finds his soulmates, goes to the past, and discovers that happiness isn’t unattainable— not necessarily in that order. -

Summary
Zuko closes his eyes and confesses in a whisper, “You don’t know what it’s like, to never feel safe.”
He waits for argument, denial, scorn.
“So tell us.”
Suki’s eyes are as steady as Sokka’s voice, when Zuko gathers up the courage to look at her. They wait, curling protectively around him in a way he’s not experienced since his mother.
Their embrace feels like safety.
So, he does.

Trying to avoid returning Ozai's bending and losing their friend, the Gaang sets off to look for Zuko before something irreversible is done to him. When he is retrieved through one method or another, he is so broken, Zuko is barely a man that can be recognized as their friend anymore. Summary
"Hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength." -Uncle Iroh
After Ozai is arrested (and shot lolol) for badly burning Zuko, Iroh takes in and adopts Zuko and Azula. With Lu Ten's help, Iroh saves enough money to move the family to Ba Sing Se, away from the bad memories of Caldera City. Iroh opens up the Jasmine Dragon and the siblings work there after school. The pair go to Ba Sing Se High, Zuko as a senior and Azula as a sophomore. There, Zuko meets the Gaang and falls for the loveable and excitable Sokka. Azula on the other hand sets her sights on Ty Lee and Mai.
Zuko and Aang are autistic because I said so, and Sokka has adhd. Also, Toph is nonbinary and uses she/they pronouns. -

Summary
"'The fog was where I wanted to be.'" Everything is different. The pitch of his voice, his posture. The auditorium goes silent. No one can take their eyes off of him.
…He's amazing.
Zuko had to perfect the art of acting as a child to survive the horrors of his homelife. When he got older, it was only natural to take his talent to the stage for entertainment and escape.
Enter Sokka, a craftsman and set designer with a giant heart who is haunted by plenty of ghosts of his own.
A tale of trauma, disability, family, creativity, and love.

Summary
The man’s voice once again broke him from his thoughts; “In my dreams I see them tortured by Fire Nation soldiers. I see my entire culture wiped from the South, our footprint upon the ice shelves gone as though we never existed, our connection with the spirits and our ancestors forgotten.” He was silent for the briefest of moments, then, “You’re Fire Nation, aren’t you?”
Zuko rolled onto his side, facing the wall, scar pressed into the arm that cushioned his head. “Once, maybe.”
“Answer me this, then; when will this war see it's end?”
Zuko, recalling the fire that had burned in Azula’s sunlit gaze the day she’d caught up to him, chose not to respond.
