Summary
"Jim?" Stede peers around them through the open door, as if he's expecting someone else, then back at their face. All he's wearing is a blue robe that Jim knows from experience is exquisitely soft. "We weren’t expecting you until our date on Thursday, is everything alright?"
"Sorry," Jim rasps, white-knuckling the door jamb. Their hands are starting to feel a little numb, black spots in their vision. "Sent you a text. Olu's gone, an’ I'm really sick. Didn't know where else to go."
And then they faint, like a fucking loser.
Of course Jim would get the horrible flu while Oluwande is on vacation with Zheng. Luckily they have two other boyfriends who are more than happy to take care of them. Featuring Jim being carried more than they want to be (how embarrassing), Bearluwande the Build-A-Bear Oluwande substitute, and a whole lotta fluff.

Summary
A knock sounds at Jim’s door.
“For fuck's sake –“ Jim groans, shoving themself up from the couch, phone pressed tight to their ear. If Lucius is back again to interrupt their Valentine’s day phone call with Ed, they’re going to kill him. “Shit, sorry, give me a second, Lucius is being a dickhead.”
Ed’s laughter rings through the phone speaker. “Take your time.”
Unlocking their door, Jim swings it open, already glaring at whoever’s on the other side, holding their phone against their chest so Ed won't hear them ream Lucius out. “Lucius, I swear to fucking god –“
Jim stops. Jim stares.
It isn’t Lucius at the door.
Ed Teach smiles at them with dark red lips, her own cellphone pressed to her ear. She winks, and Jim’s heart starts racing. “Hey, lover. Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Jim is expecting to spend Valentine's day alone, because you don't get a fancy dinner date when your sort-of-maybe-girlfriend is a famous rockstar who's on tour across the country. But a surprise visit from Ed turns the night into something beautiful.

Summary
Five times Edward Teach heard fairytales, and one time he became one.
Trigger warning: quite a bit of suicidal ideation and self-harm on Ed and Stede's part, but not graphically described.
I promise, things get better for them!

Jim wouldn't change any of it though, they never thought they would find a person who would care about them so unconditionally, imagine having two.
Happiness sounds like a fantasy when all you’ve been taught is survival and revenge but they can finally allow it, they can feel it and cherish it.

“Jim, I want a baby.”
They’re lying in Jim’s bed, scrolling TikToks together. Neither of them had really said anything for the past 30 minutes, aside from the occasional “look at this'' and huff of laughter.
Jim looks up from their phone at the woman lying at the foot of their bed. They frown, wondering if she’s serious. “I think that’s more of a request for Olu, babe.” They state matter-of-factly.

Summary
No one warns Ed that Hornigold is searching for him. Maybe, if they’d known, he and Stede could have been more prepared for the ambush that sends them hurtling into Hornigold’s many mind games. Like playing chess with only one piece, Ed maneuvers both physical and psychological torment at the hands of his former captain, wishing only to protect Stede—even if it requires great sacrifice.
As in all things, they aren’t alone. Their friends have been captured too, quickly forming a rivalry with Hornigold’s crooked crew. Jim splits off, desperate to save their family, and discovers unexpected help and familiarity in a pair of strangers. Equally eager to reunite with Jim, Oluwande takes charge of the crew and finds a few escape plans up his sleeve… and in his shoe.
Pirating requires hard choices, and nurturing newfound love means there’s now more to lose. In the midst of pain and fear, there is a soft place to rest, to hope, and to grasp just how deeply someone’s relentless love can reach.

Summary
Izzy huffs, cheeks tinting pink. “Fuck you.”
Jim shifts so that they’re kneeling between his legs now, hands on his thighs, face so close to his that their lips are almost touching. “I’d be doing the fucking, old man,” they say in a husky voice that always does it for Olu. -

I saw Izzy’s behavior in episode 2.07 and thought, “this is a man who has felt intimacy and affection from his crewmates.” And four of them came to mind.
I’ll post one chapter per day. They’re mostly an exploration of non sexual intimacy, though chapter three will have an E-rating.

Summary
Jim had the beginnings of an idea of how to pull it off from the moment they saw the posted contract, but they started the ride to Bridgetown before it was fully formed. They were good at plans, so there was no worry. Plans came to Jim just as they needed them. They didn’t act without thinking things through patiently, but that didn’t make them slow or hesitant. The first part of Jim’s plan was to get to the saloon in Bridgetown. After that, they would harden the loose bits of it with the bartender.
Or, Jim is a bounty hunter picking up a contract for Stede Bonnet, dead or alive. They know the best way to pull this gig off is with Olu's help.

Summary
It takes three seconds for Jim to have their knife at the tattooed woman’s throat, and without the pain splitting the back of their head, it would have been even quicker. “Where the hell is Olu and what the fuck am I doing in Stede’s room?”
The woman seems rather unperturbed by the knife at her throat- a far cry than anyone else who has ever been threatened by Jim. “Stede’s room? What do you mean- oh, shit.” The woman’s brow furrows. “Do you know who I am?”
“Why the fuck would I know who you are?”
The door opens and Jim doesn't let their knife drop as Olu himself enters with a tray of tea in hand, restoring some of the air to their lungs. He and Jim can take care of this woman.
But Olu just smiles. “You two really shouldn’t be sparring until you’re all better, Jim."
“Sparring?" Jim demands, "You’re telling me I know this woman?”
Olu laughs. "That knock to the head must have been bad if it's affecting your sense of humor, Jim-"
"Jim doesn't remember me," the woman says, tone brisk. "They still think we're on Stede's ship."
The tray drops from Olu's hands and hits the ground.
(After a kidnapping attempt goes awry, Jim wakes up with no memory of the last three years.)

Summary
“Sometimes the rotten part has to come off for the body to be healthy,” Izzy says, gesturing at his wooden leg. “You're the one who taught me that, you know? It's better to live than to drown in that which is ruining you.”
“But my…” The word breasts is a neutral word, its connotation dependent on circumstance. It’s positive when describing Archie’s lovely boobs, but it’s negative when describing Jim’s own chest. “My chest is healthy. Getting rid of these things will only cause harm. I’ll be unable to help out for a good month-”
Izzy's tone brokers no argument. “If you can’t even use the word for those body parts, then they’re not healthy. They’re an infection. And you deserve to be able to cut out whatever harms you.”
“Us protectors cannot bear to be indisposed if the ones we need to protect are defenseless.” Izzy gives Jim a small, wry smile. “But we are not gods. We have never been asked to be. We are loved in our humanness. And we have to accept that we’re pirates, and so are the people we love, and they can protect themselves when we have to take care of us.”
(Jim has top surgery. Some of the downsides of recovery threaten to muddy their joy, but the crew reminds them of the miracle they are.)

Summary
Before meeting Olu, Jim had never danced in their life. Or, at least, they hadn’t danced since the day they woke up clutching their father’s knife. They hadn’t had a need to- the only time anyone danced at church was for weddings, and Nana always pulled them away once the ceremony was over, saying they had more important things to worry about than frivolity.
For all the grace Jim has with a weapon, dancing is a different story. A different challenge.
The first time that everyone dances on the Revenge- after they manage to pull off the lighthouse-in-the-fog fuckery- Jim spends most of the evening scowling at the railing, flipping a knife between their fingers.
But then Olu peels off from the crowd in the middle of the deck to offer them a hand.
---
Olu’s hand slips down from Jim’s cheek to their hand, wrapping their fingers together. Then Olu turns and nods at Archie. “If we’re gonna do this right,” he says, “We do this together.”
And oh, Jim understands what he means. What he's saying. What he's giving them as he's turning to Archie and saying, "Hey, Archie, mind dancing with us?"
(Jim Jimenez's developing love life, as told through the first four times they danced.)

Now… Oluwande was no longer fighting or tense under their hand, no longer babbling pleas for it to stop, or begging for more. Now… he was barely making any sounds besides the quiet sobs that wracked his body. Their heart ached and flew and they felt a fierce protectiveness over him.
He had been perfect.
And now was their favorite part, the aftercare.

Summary
At first, Olu’d seemed a bit warm to the touch, but, fuck, it was always pretty hot. In the sun, his skin practically burned, and even belowdecks he picked up every bit of heat — ran warm, he said, always had.
But he’d picked at his lunch, claimed (in a low voice so Roach wouldn’t hear) it tasted a bit off, and then later that afternoon he’d sat down on a coil of rope with his head in his hands. When Jim touched him arm, he mumbled, “I don’t feel so good,” and just fucking — keeled over, practically. Like he was melting.
