A lot of phantom hybrids don't actually know they're phantom hybrids. It's a dormant trait, their main hybrid traits the only obvious ones, unless of course, the hybrid dies. Phantom genetics give them one more shot at life, for the price of burning in the sun and constant hunger. They get to keep their previous hybrid traits after death, too - or, they should.

“Maybe the Admin should get better security here then. There’s a rift somewhere here because our portal glitched and we wound up here,” Techno snarks, full of the same arrogance and confidence Wilbur’s had to listen to about for the past few years.
Tommy squares his shoulders, “Is that it? Ah I’ll be sure to tell him. Hello Tommyinnit, yes what is it? Oh yes, the guy who blew up your previous home and beat you half to death and freed a fucking asshole from prison is here to tell you that your code is shit. Oh well tell him to fuck off then!”
This is a story set five years since the dissolution of the Dream SMP in which Wilbur, Tubbo, Philza, Ranboo, Michael, and Technoblade find themselves glitched through a portal into a realm they do not recognize with its admin in the name of Tommyinnt. Tommyinnit, who disappeared a few months prior to the shut down of their old server. Tommyinnit, who is now older, a responsible Admin, and wants absolutely nothing to do with them.
This is a DSMP/OSMP crossover story of healing, conversation, and in the end, love.

Whipping his head around to face the voice, Tommy was greeted by a brown-eyed man. He was tall, taller than Tommy, and even he was a good six-foot-three. He had on a musty-looking trench coat, under which he wore a yellow sweater vest and a white poets top. He even had on a pair of round-rimmed silver glasses.
From his brown pants to his curly fringe, Tommy knew this man was bad news. Most concerning, though, were the large hazel wings protruding from his back. Their wingspan had to be a good seventeen feet long, far larger than his own. Apparently, Tommy was not as alone out here as he had thought. He had found the woodland’s predator, and he was terrified.

It had been a joke, obviously, he knew that... but it still stung a bit, because it was true.
Wilbur was cackling, at him as they watched Philza sore above then and up towards the clouds, outstretching a dark grey wing to part the fluffy white poofs with hus feathers. Meanwhile Tommy attempted to go after him. A deep breath abd a running start he jumped off the Pube only to flutter down harmlessly to the grass far below. He lost his balance, sliding from his feet to his bum with a soft thump.
Above Philza landed next to Wilbur on the Pube both chuckling dowm at him.
"You're like a baby Elytrian! Need some flying lessons huh bub?" Wilbur hollered down to him. Philza laughed fondly in response at the joke.
As Tommy's eyes prickled with tears and he got up, brushing himself off, he thought, if they only new how true that was, how small he truly was.
