Summary
Everybody knows the story. Batty Baggins ran off on an adventure, came back with gold and a dwarf of his own. But that was then, and this is now - now, Bilbo is in the Shire, and Thorin back in Erebor, their marriage only existing on paper anymore. It was a bitter set of consequences that pulled them apart, and they've made their peace with that, more or less. However, peace turns out to be a very fragile concept when they meet again under the least likely circumstances, forced to come face to face with the things long left unsaid.

This is a serial zombie apocalypse drama in a Middle Earth AU, with no winning in sight. “Complete” doesn't/can't apply here.
Update 23 Nov 2021: Focused on other works, burned out Dec 2020, got my mojo back, knocked out a few other WIPs, returned to this Grimes in Middle Earth crossover (alternating every other week with a Hermione/Harry smut work in a crack-fic mash-up world), so Grimes wasn't delayed 'til 03 October (to make up for delay, see the footnote at end listing 22 sources of legally free RPG materials; taking break 1Q22 to finish Peach/Zelda & Sonic.

But she soon learns that not all adventures are fun and games like the fairytales Bilbo read her as a child--some are dangerous, frightening, and heartbreaking.

Summary
Lunessa is the only Elven/witch crossbreed known to Middle Earth. Her story has been shared around Middle Earth as a myth, but she is very real. She resides in Rivendell with her father, Elrond. As a child, she met a boy who changed her wavelength and the trajectory of her life forever. Legolas Greenleaf. She never saw him again after that, but she surely still felt that connection to him grow deeper in her veins everyday. She longed for him without hardly even knowing who he was; all upon one meeting.
Gandalf has requested Lunessa's help in aiding Thorin and Company on their journey to take back the Lonely Mountain, their rightful home. Her magic abilities would most definitely be of use for the dwarves and their endeavor. What Lunessa did not expect was to be reunited with Legolas along the way and find herself falling into an intense romance with him. -

After an ill-received proposal, a few stolen heirlooms, and a mutual exchange of harsh words, Filomena finds herself in the company of an unwilling dwarven king, Thorin Oakenshield. On a quest for adventure and reclamation, Filomena and her cousin, Bilbo, must break free of the silken safety blanket of the Shire and survive in the big world.
Of course, it's hard to make it big when a king doesn't like you.
Will Filomena and Bilbo make it to the end of the quest? Or will a stubborn-headed king do everything in his power to break the little woman? Will Thorin be able to stay true to his own beliefs and morals? Or will an intoxicatingly fierce hobbit break down his walls?
