With a violent Markus leading the revolution into battle, it seems like that might happen all too soon..

One of the finest heart surgeons in the country, his reputable career spoke for itself. While some would assume that his intelligence was inherited from the long line of surgeons and medical scientists in his family tree, it was no secret that nepotism alone could not account for his success. He had worked hard to get where he was.
Following his ten-hour surgery the night before, he had taken refuge in the on-call room. The fatigue he felt from a hard day’s work, and the worry he felt for the woman he loved, had him confined to the hospital instead of letting him drive over to his not-so-humble abode on the other side of the city.
Lying in the uncomfortable bunk bed for another moment, he looked over at the window as the sun rose above the clouds.
