She hadn’t been able to sleep well at all the entire time she’d been here, but tonight, after witnessing Mondo’s execution, she could not stop tossing and turning. Wondering who would be next. She feared that at any moment someone might burst in - Genocide Jill with her scissors, Celeste with her finger-claw-thing, Byakuya with who knows what - looking to trade her life for their freedom. Summary
Based on "The Doctor Is In" that appeared in the late Anime Addventure. Throughout the universe, there is ONE planet that is feared above all others, so feared that many civilized races are afraid to speak of this world's name, much less speak of its remarkable inhabitants. The Oni have great reason to fear "They Who Must Never Be Named"; 270 years before the Tag Race with Earth, the Oni were nearly annihilated by the Children of the Forge after an invasion attempt that went awry.
The greatest fear Redet Lum has is actually confronting a native of Yiziba, most of all the Trickster of the Show, Tuyuki, the face of the "Mother of All Fight Scenes" that became the core image of the darkest moment in Oni history. Little does she realize her "Darling" is in fact the newest incarnation of the Trickster of the Show...and is executing a plan started ten years before to seal off Earth from alien encroachment. Summary
I thought the original Trigger Happy Havoc was wasted potential concerning character development, story and the horror atmosphere it was trying to go for. I want to keep the original tone of the game somewhat present but in this rewrite I am planning on making some major changes to the canon work, including changing up the murderers, victims and even to a degree survivors, as well as murder methods and executions.
I also want to give interesting characters like Mondo, Kiyotaka, Chihiro and Celestia more spotlight as I feel they were tossed away unceremoniously by Kodaka, even for a story about a killing game. I will also be removing some of the more offensive aspects of the game such as Chihiro’s transphobic plot line, the creepier aspects of the canon work and Hifumi in general, who will be replaced by an oc. The main POV will be from Kirigiri as I think she is very interesting and while I like Makoto, I feel the series is sorely lacking in female main characters. There will be more LGBT+ representation too because unlike Kodaka I’m not a coward.
