Summary
"Devil May Cry: Forgotten Sins" is a fan-made direct (AU)continuation of Devil May Cry 5 (it would work as a 6th game, for example), it's full-canon-based using my headcanons, theories, and my own interpretation of the canon universe. There are also lots of new lore elements I created for story enrichment. A few chapters have two versions, the "cyan" and the "magenta", were each shows the subplots of Nero/Vergil and Dante/Kyrie respectively.

After Dante and Vergil vanish while hunting a demon that has left a string of unconscious children in its wake, Nero struggles with the search for his missing father and uncle in between parenting an ever-growing pack of orphans and tracking down a mysterious rival.
The path to restoration is a minefield of dark secrets, unsettling revelations, and surprising truths concerning his own lineage – all things he would be better equipped to process if he didn’t have two toddlers sharing his bedroom, a devil hunter crashed on his sofa, and a demonic clone of his grandmother eating pizza on the roof. His family life is… complicated.
But there’s no time to simplify things, because a formidable enemy has followed him home to Fortuna, and it’s going to take more than swords, guns, or his nascent devil powers to keep his unconventional family intact.

Griffon eventually dropped, causing the man to catch him. “Damn it, what the hell is going on?” He asked as he held the limp bird as best as he could. He’s pretty sure the feathers would be ruined with the way he held the familiar under the wing joints.
“I’m at my limit.” Griffon said between his pants. “Whatever you do, don’t get caught.” He warned. “Don’t get caught.”
“Wait, the help.” He reiterated. ”What do you need?” Nero asked as the situation finally caught up to him and things were starting to...shift? “Don’t die on me yet.”
“Your demon powers, kid. All three of us.” He muttered weakly.
“Take it.” Nero said hurriedly. He knows there’s not much time. Whether it’s Griffon or the dream, it’s going to end. “Just do it, goddamn it.”

Summary
There was a reason hybrids between human and demon were so rare. Even a pregnancy in a normal human pairing was taxing upon the mother but with a hybrid it was more often than not lethal. Human and demons were never truly meant to breed and for all successful pregnancies there were thousands of deaths, of stillborn or infants born only to die moments later from their conflicting nature or grotesque malformations. Or of purely demonic young eating their way out of their mothers and both dying as a result.
Mundus went through many humans, women abducted to the demon world by his minions, until one survived through the pregnancy long enough to birth a child which could pass for traditional human being. One which was too demonic in appearance was no use- he wanted eyes and ears within the mortal realm. Someone who could slip pass demon repellents and could search without scrutiny into unlocking the seals holding him prisoner. Something that could slip past Sparda's notice and to search, under the radar, for ways to fully manifest into the human world. For all Mundus looked down upon humans he wouldn't dismiss a tool without testing its use first.

Now, as he sat in his living room, eating dinner with Nico and Dante, he reminisced over some of the more eye-opening parts of his decisions over the last year. Many questions had been answered, sure. More than that though, many more have risen inside his mind. The most important ones of all though... Who was Mary and why was Arkham telling Nero to say hi to her for him?

But as it stands, he can only curse the Sparda twins under his breath.
Urizen, V and Nero are brothers. Nico is way too invested in demon biology. The supposedly adults seem to know something, but refuse to tell him.

Half a year after the Qliphoth’s destruction, Nero and Vergil have established themselves in one of the secondary offices of Devil May Cry sited in Red Grave, where job isn’t lacking while exterminating demons between the two worlds.
It could be said that a relative calm reigns; a calm that will soon be disturbed when Dante reappears after months of being absent, with the need of a place to stay, and with harbored feelings towards Vergil that will bear an impact on the other members of the Sparda family.
