But a kinship will form over a mutual want: black despondency.He had already been smiling when he had arrived, but that smug, condescending smirk only grew towards her comment. "The desires from your mouth and the desires in your soul do not match, my beast."
"Stop talking like you know what I want," she hissed as she tried to steady her breathing. Adrenaline was already coursing through her veins, and almost boiling over with the excitement of this duel.
"I am fully aware of your desires, for we share them." He took a deep breath, held it in his lungs, and let it slip between his smiling lips. "Come at me, oh Hero."

Whether they can continue to thwart fate is a different matter entirely.

Stories about my reckless WoL, Rejah Tavi.
When Ardbert offers up his portion of their shared soul to enable Rejah to fight Emet-Selch, she decides she doesn't want another sacrifice. She does what she can to make sure he's still around after the process, but they both end up with a bit more awkwardness to work through than they intended.
Inspired by that one cutscene in 5.3 that made me cry way too much, and got me thinking, what if my WoL could call ardbert forth any time she wanted? What if they were both in there all the time, bantering back and forth like siblings? And then I had to write some of it xD
I intend to reformat and consolidate all this into a more traditionally formatted fic later on. For now, this is just a place for me to participate in FFxivWrite2020 and get a bunch of my rambling rough drafts and other ideas actually written out, hopefully to draw from and revise later.
Don't expect any particular chronological order or proper plot structure, because you definitely won't find it here. :)

The University of The Holy See Ishgard was a grand specimen of Ishgardian architecture. Nestled within the city’s backdrop of steely spires and grey rooftops, it was considered the finest place of education, to even rival that of the Sharlayan Studium itself.
Newly joining its academic ranks of faculty, The Warrior of Light, descendant from a lineage of her predecessors, now teaches as a Professor within the great walls of the Holy See, encountering various members of staff along the way in her burgeoning career as an educator.
A series of moments, chapters of the WoL and our favourite Ishgard elezens (as well as other characters) teaching as Professors in an AU University! Enjoy! Ultimately a WoL/Aymeric love story too!

She just did not expect the sickness part to happen over something as avoidable as overworking oneself.
At least Aymeric had the decency to appear contrite, lest she make the parting due to death a reality too.
