Badgerclops is an almost "down on his luck" citizen of Pure Heart Valley. He got fired from his job and some people are intimated by him due to his towering figure and scary gadgets from his robotic arm. In reality, all he really wants (besides more sleep and a new job) is a boyfriend by his side.
....
That all changed one faithful day when he and his friends have lunch at "la Crevette Centrale", a restaurant that's currently well known for it's main attraction: a feline mermaid. (who looked oddly familiar to Badgerclops, but he just didn't know what) A creature known for their beautiful hypnotic singing used to lure in mortal to their eventual demise. However, the owners (Rufus and Reggie) claimed that the mermaid refuses to sing.Despite this, the mermaid started to sing everytime Badgerclops is around. Seeing this as a cry for help, Badgerclops sneaks into the restaurant at night, frees the mermaid (who is reveled to be named "Mao Mao" and apartly also has the ability to grow legs when he's all dried up). and returns him back to the ocean. Only to discover that this was not what he wanted, he was interested in one thing and one thing only..... Him.
How will their story continue?

Originally, I was going to make something MUCH more angsty/edgy than this, but hopefully this'll be a tad bit more light- hearted. . .maybe?
Basically, Penn is going with Eugene to get some shopping done, but Eug gets kidnapped on the way (getting his glasses broken in the process)! The bat does actually begin chatting with, and even becoming friends with a dog that's with them. . .the other 2 that's with her aren't very lucky, though.
This'll be my first attempt at a multi-chaptered story. Let me know your opinions on this so far!

Edit: I've just hit upon some advance chapters that actually go DEEP into the systemics of Mao's powers. Yay!
Will get *quite a bit* sensual in places, but no outright smut. Heaping helpings of cute tactile affection typical of felines, large and little. Snugglemao. Rare raw emotional vulnerability moments from our favorite small tsundere sheriff.

Some notes:
What Mao Mao eventually says about purring is, to some extent, true in the real world.
Mao Mao’s observations about lions he’s met are factual in the real world.
“Dudrato” is an in-universe word for bisexual. Will be explained.
Warriorhood as discussed here, as you might imagine, follows some aspects of Greek conventions.
