Summary
Izzy can't sleep since Blackbeard has returned. He stares at his door, night after night, ears straining to hear past the groan of the ship.
"“Fucking... come on, Hands. Get it together,” he growled, scrubbing a hand down his face. After a breath, he forced his body into motion, overriding the quivering animal inside that paralyzed him. It was just a cabin—his cabin, in fact. What was there to be scared of?"
A thank you to the discord for enabling this madness. Title is of course from The Night We Met.

Summary
Of all of these changes, what startled Ed the most were Stede's eyes. His eyes were like anchors, sunken and stressed beyond belief- and focused entirely on Ed.
He looked so deadly serious that it temporarily took him off guard.
Ed wanted with all of his being to run over to Stede, to kiss him and cry in his arms with joy and relief, and then it hit him:
You left me. You left me. You promised and you left me. You fuckin bastard.or: Picking up from the end of season 1, Ed and Stede reunite. Both need to make amends- and learn how to love each other again.

Summary
In which Stede Bonnet discovers his inner sadist, Izzy Hands discovers care & love as it fits him, and Ed gets to be as soft as he's ever wanted to be. Just not without a few scars along the way.
Post season 1 reunion fic with a focus on Stizzy/Gentlehands as a leadup to eventual Steddy Hands. Accuracy around history, piracy, and medicine are on the backburner. Updates Wednesdays and Fridays. It's eventually very hopeful and loving, I think, but it takes a little while to get there. Check the notes at the beginning (and beginnings of each chapter) for more trigger/content warnings.

Summary
The first time is quick. Ed has been thinking about it for weeks, kissing Stede Bonnet. It is the sort of thing he wants to do right. Though Stede’s never mentioned it in any of their lessons, Ed is certain there is a right way to go about kissing a gentleman. He must wait for the right time, the right place.
But when he finally does it, Ed doesn’t think at all. He is only instinct and hope tangled in a moment where breath is forgotten and the future seems possible.
OR: Five times Ed kisses Stede and one time Stede kisses Ed

Summary
‘Oh shit,’ says the ghost standing by the cabin’s desk, frantically shoving the food Blackbeard had let grow cold on the plate into his mouth. His voice is a bit muffled, because he’s chewing on a piece of slightly stale bread like a hamster.
He tries to say something like, ‘You’re supposed to be fucking dead,’ but all he can mumble out, inebriated as he is, is ‘Wzzsdghlkjd?’

Or, Blackbeard dove head-first into the wrong genre. Let's see if Ed can't find his way back to Comedy. -

Summary
The cat starts out as a stowaway. It then becomes a contributing member of the ship - an employee, if you will. (Not a pet, despite what some people say. And definitely not an omen, despite what some other people say.) It eventually becomes a sort of… mascot. That’s all. Certainly not, say, some sort of replacement for Stede. And obviously not, in any way, shape or form, a reincarnation of Stede. Because that would be crazy.
…The cat may or may not be a metaphor.
(Spoiler alert: the cat is a bit of a metaphor. But also an actual cat.)

Summary
Ed allowed himself to glance at Stede. He hadn’t noticed before how much Stede had changed since the barracks. His face was rougher, his skin covered in fresh scars, a beard just beginning to grow in, a more confident air about him. He was beginning to look like a real pirate. Ed felt a tug on his heart. He looked back at the sun, which was reaching out to kiss the horizon.
