    Summary

After a mission gone horribly wrong - three men dead and himself captured and tortured by the Gestapo - Captain Jack Williams has had enough. And his oh so brilliant leader's brushing off of some very real stripes don't make things go so well, either.

Saying Jack's pissed is an understatement. Saying that he has the best impulse control and planning when he's pissed is also an understatement. When a bit of petty revenge goes horribly wrong, Jack decides his next best plan is to stage a daring escape and hoof it to Switzerland or, failing that, blow his brains out with Hogan's prized Luger. Once again, things go horribly wrong and his impulsive decision lands him smack in the middle of the Franzheim River after falling off of a cliff.

It's just not Jack's day. Or his week. Or really even his year.

They say belly gunners have a death wish and Jack really isn't trying to prove them wrong.

    Summary

Someone new is assigned to Stalag 13: Viktoria Brandt, secretary and wife to a very influencial SS and Gestapo officer. But little do the Germans know that Viktoria Brandt with her strict loyalty to her husband and admiration for the Führer is actually Zoe Allen, a member of the Women's Auxiliary Airforce and Special Operations Executive, intent on helping Hogan and his Heroes in sabotaging everything they can get their hands on.

    Summary

    Based off of this song!

War games are almost insulting to a man of Julius Deutsch' caliber. For one thing, he has better things to do. There are missions to be completed, trains to be blown up, and marks to be killed. He does not have the time to play nice with a bunch of Home Guard types and smile as the civilian tries (and fails for the third time) to throw a fucking grenade straight. Deutsch might be controlled, but he does have his limits and that is one of them.

Going to Stalag 13 for dinner and a show seems to be a good idea. Watching a show where a colonel dances on stage and blows kisses to the audience is even better. What's best is meeting that man backstage and showing him just how much that little performance meant to a bored, lonely soldier.

But crossing swords with the Gestapo? This might not have been Deutsch's best idea, but he rolls with the punches with the best of them.

Those damn martinis in Florida better be worth it.

    Summary

Captain Johann Siphord is really in it this time.

For one, he's a pilot, not a spy. For another, he had the acute misfortune of voicing his dislike of a certain Gestapo Major in earshot. That's how he found himself hogtied in the back of a ratty truck, bouncing all the way to the toughest POW camp in Germany. The life expectancy of a German prisoner in the midst of Allied POWs is never very good at the best of times, but when Siphord is placed in the camp under the name of a dead man, his chances go from bad to worse. Hochstetter, of course, expects reports from his pilot turned spy and he's not above letting the Allies kill Siphord for him.

It's a damn good thing that Siphord speaks English. It's a better thing that he's bunking with the only American who might listen before he turns to murder.

    Summary

Julius Deutsch has had one hell of a year.

First of all, a grenade exploded in a secure command post and Deutsch decided that he was going to pull a John Wayne and save everyone and himself. It didn't work. He lost his job, nearly lost his life, and found himself hobbling in the unemployment line with people who don't exactly like him. He needs a job. So when he found a certain American POW sitting in a place he really wasn't supposed to be, he's more than willing to work a little deal. Under the table, of course. Deutsch isn't stupid and the man who tried to kill him is still out there.

Being the commandant of a prison camp is quite the downgrade from leading the charge in a glorious war, but it's a paycheck and probably won't get Deutsch killed.

    He hopes.

    Summary

The population of Stalag XIII is exploding in the aftermath of D-Day, posing challenges to the security of Hogan's operation: With so many men pouring in, who can he trust? And what's come over one of his men? Newkirk, who has become comfortable speaking around Hogan's team notwithstanding his stutter, is suddenly agitated. Hogan needs the entire core team to step up and size up the new "talent" that's pouring into camp. Is Newkirk up to the task?

(This is a reworked version of a chapter that was originally part of Getting to Know You. I wasn't going to to start a new story until I finish a few more old ones, but I liked a lot of this chapter, and I couldn't help myself.)

    Summary

The end of the war was getting closer; the Allied troops made daily progress in marching into enemy territory. The prisoners at Luft-Stalag 13 on the outskirts of Hammelburg, which was near Dusseldorf, were all excited and antsy. Their senior POW officer Colonel Robert Hogan of the US Army Air Force also known as Papa Bear to the underground, was on a solo mission and it turned sour. He had been compromised, his identity was now known to the Gestapo and he decided to close up shop and to return to England. But his decision was frowned upon by his superiors and he was put under arrest and was to be court-martialed. Would he be able to get out of this sticky-wicket; would his men be able to help their CO or would he meet his untimely end, sentenced to death as a traitor and deserter?

    Summary

Life after Stalag 13 means big adjustments on the home front--facing people and places that in many cases have changed beyond recognition. An examination of what the transition was like. The title comes from a failed promise of British Prime MInister David Lloyd George at the end of the first World War--that the men returning home would find themselves welcomed back in a land fit for heroes.

I've published a number of stories recently on "the other platform" that hang together thematically, but I put them up as stand-alone stories. I'm combining them here with an eye toward possibly doing so with the originals. We'll see. The chapters in this story are the names of the stand-alone stories on the other platform.

    Summary

In the aftermath of World War II, Peter Newkirk's life has been torn to shreds. His home was obliterated by the vengeance weapons unleashed on London after D-Day. His birth family has scattered, and the only real family he's known for the past four years--the men of LuftStalag 13--are moving on with their lives. Can they help him pick up the pieces, even if his life looks nothing like anyone expected for him?

I want to be clear about my intentions for this story. Scenes of a sexual nature WILL occur to advance the plot. But my goal is to write an accurate, inquisitive story about what it would mean if one of our beloved heroes turned out to be gay, and how that would affect his options in life and his relationships. The focus is on character, not titillation.

I will be using language that's authentic to the period, some of it ugly. The word "gay" won't appear. In fact, correct words were mostly unspoken. As of chapter 9, only LeBeau, God bless him, has been bold enough to say "homosexual" out loud. We're currently in chapter 32, and Peter is still dying inside at the thought that this word describes him. This story is about the struggle of a character to accept himself and live an authentic life.

    Summary

In the first months of the operation, as he was still getting to know his team, Colonel Hogan sometimes underestimated his men. By showing a little faith in all of them, he helped them trust one another and form an exceptional unit. Newkirk's stutter started as an obstacle, but in time he showed Hogan-and himself- that it didn't have to be. With Hogan showing them the way, the men also learned to understand and trust one another.

Note: Old chapters 19 and 20 have been removed. They may turn up somewhere else, but I finally realized they were driving this story in a direction that wasn't correct or consistent. This story is supposed to be about Newkirk and Hogan's growing mutual respect and understanding, not how Newkirk struggles with Olsen or any other character in my headcanon. I liked both of those chapters, but I just couldn't find a way out of THIS story as long as they were there, so I removed them and reworked parts of chapter 16 and chapter 18.
