Summary
“Well,” said Peter, looking over the destruction that had overtaken the drawing room. “I suppose it was a fairly accurate retelling of the siege of Troy. Although I do fancy there was rather less throwing of pillows and more severe bloodshed in the event.”

Summary
Harriet, who had been writing her latest novel for long enough that it felt rather more like a child than a book, had sworn off reading for the weekend and was working on a scarf for the Dowager Duchess. It was slow-going, never having been much for knitting or crochet, but the motions were soothing and it was a more socially acceptable hobby for a train journey than discussing crime, no matter how happy one’s husband was to expound upon the subject.

Summary
Contrary to her own expectations, Harriet found the various huntin’, shootin’, and fishin’ types remarkably easy to talk to. She asked after the huntin’, shootin’, and fishin’, they asked after the murder-writing business, and everyone agreed that the weather was very fine for this time of year and wasn’t the salmon good, what?

Summary
Lord Peter Wimsey has been searching for his Sentinel since his Guide gifts awoke in the middle of a bloody battlefield during the Great War. However, even his considerable sleuthing skills aren't enough to find them, and after over a decade of searching, he's close to giving up when he is sent to investigate possible Sentinel/Guide corruption in London's bohemian quarter.

Summary
For all that it retained some prestige as one of the oldest continually operating bookshops in London, A.Z. Fell & Co had an abysmal reputation among the social circles Lord Peter Wimsey had inveigled himself into following the War - being made up primarily of self-proclaimed intellectuals, artistes, and independently wealthy collectors of incunabala, this was perhaps not entirely surprising. Familiarity breeds contempt, or so Peter had heard.
“Awful atmosphere,” Marjorie had offered over tea - a fine lapsang souchong as it happened - when Peter was last in Bloomsbury. “Felt as if a leak was about to erupt at any moment. I wouldn’t be surprised if the owner doesn’t keep a tiger caged up somewhere ready to unleash on any unsuspecting fool who actually attempts to buy something.”

Summary
“‘M afraid I proposed,” Lord Peter told his whiskey.
“Proposed,” Phryne repeated.
“Yes. Marriage.”
There was a pause as she took this in. “She was in prison. You’d been called in, all monocled, to keep her from hanging. And your suggestion to her was holy matrimony.”
Peter flourished a hand in a sad sort of bow.

Summary
Set spring/ summer 1938. With war increasingly likely, the Admiralty need updated charts of the Baltic Sea. Amateur yachtsmen and women are discretely asked to help with this, under the guise of leisurely pleasure cruising. The Swallow, Amazons and Callums are among them. Naval Lieutenant John Walker has been asked to do a little more than that and Nancy inevitably gets involved the task. Involves danger and some (not graphic) violence in a few chapters. A warning will be put at the start of any chapter with a fight. (I've had a complaint, via a different site, that I should have given a trigger warning for Nazis. I thought Berlin 1938 would be sufficient and that anyone who really needed that warning would know what the dates and place implied, or look it up, not just say they "couldn't be bothered to check." I was wrong. I still feel angry at the complainant's implied contempt for those who actually suffered contrasted with her extreme care for herself.)
