Shi Qing Xuan was always meant to be a mortal. So, naturally, he dies.
A few days later, in a fishing village on the northeast coast of China, a girl is born, though her parents don't quite know it yet. Once again, she's a normal mortal in normal circumstances.
-That is, until strange characters enter her life and a disaster devastates her town, changing the course of her life for good.
Will she be able to determine her own fate this time around?

Hua Cheng has an idea for how to remove Xie Lian's shackles.
It's gonna require some help from all of Ghost City, as well as an assortment of gods.

This time, the butterfly transmitted a scene of a bustling street. On the margins, Xie Lian could make out clusters of ghosts and demons pressed against one another, mangled clumps of monstrous limbs and heads. In the center of the street, however, it became harder to discern individual ghosts; it was like the entire population of Ghost City had become a single, churning mass of raw sex. On the periphery, ghost fires of various colors set the seedy street ablaze, while amidst the central mass, rainbow-colored slime coated every slick body. There were some off-beat shrieks and bellows, but for the most part, the mass seemed to emit a tuneless, gibbering hum, rising and falling with the writhing waves of interlocking souls.
“I can’t believe you dragged me into this,” Shi Wu Du said sternly.
Pei Ming laughed, patting him on the back. “It’s for friendship, we can’t be the three tubros if we don’t figure out who one of us is dating.”
Or, Ling Wen is suddenly not single.
