Since Dream made the SMP his Kingdom trough a war that Tommy lost, everything has been hell. Tommy have been killed multiple times since his capture, being tortured and hurt until he felt like breaking. Living felt like a nightmare, and death was worse. But no matter what Dream did, how much propaganda he made Tommy record on his favour, the people were stil hopeful.
So, Dream offers him a deal.

His eyes grew wide as coins, which exposed the stormy blue color they wore. “Have you seen the world? Like all of it?” He scuffed a little closer. “Every corner.” Wilbur answered with a wide smile.
Wilbur Soot is running from his fate. When he meet the young soldier Tommy he fells the need to step in.
Suprisingly it's not easy to fight in a years long war when you need to run every few days.

Alarm shot through him as he started to fully process the situation he was in and as he shuffled around more on the floor he felt something soft brush against his back.
From what Tommy remembered, nothing about quartz walls or tiled floors was soft like that.
He whipped his head around and his eyes widened at what he saw. Bright white wings hung limply off his back, the feathers seeming long and pristine despite the flecks of blood that littered their surface at the ends.

Wilbur abruptly stops and turns around, smelling smoke in the air. He runs back towards the room and tries to open the door, but before he can, the blistering heat of the burning metal handle singes his hand and he pulls back.
He stares at his hand and then up, his face morphing into one of absolute horror as he realizes that Tommy is still in there.
Screams echo through the hallway- both from the servants trapped inside and Wilbur pleading with whatever Gods he can think of to let him open the door, let him get to Tommy before its too late.
After a while, Wilbur sinks to the ground, sobbing into his hands as the reality of what just happened sinks in, and Wilbur realized what he had just done.
