Summary
Sapnap has been first place on the track team four years in a row. All eyes are on him to complete his high school career with a full scholarship to his college to take pressure off his cancer-ridden mother’s shoulders. But now, senior year, he has some competition from a transfer student. Karl wants to make a name for himself at their high school, and that means toppling Sapnap’s reign.
When the two are paired together for the varsity relay race, they must learn how to cooperate while also bettering each other, as both a team and as people. As the season goes on, they begin to grow closer. Not just as teammates, but as friends. Karl opens up more, all the while Sapnap’s health slowly deteriorates. With college scouts on the hunt and their adulthood growing closer, they must learn what’s worth fighting for, and what’s worth giving up for.
This year, it’s all or nothing.

they're close. so close that dream can feel punz's breath on the tip of his nose.
"punz," another whisper falls past dream's lips.

dream can't stop. he can't pull away. he can only move closer. perhaps too close, he thinks, pushing his lips against punz's.
once he pulls away, he can't stop looking into those same cerulean eyes. "so beautiful," he finally answers.
