What Dahlia doesn't know is that he's the most ruthless and power hungry gangster in Los Angeles with a lot of blood on his hands, and his entry into Dahlia's life will change things forever.

Sam had just gotten back from a mission with the Air Force when he got the news, and it took him a while to understand what he was hearing. Sitting on the edge of his bed, still jetlagged, he had stared at the woman on his television, trying to wrap his mind around the fact that Steve was gone, truly gone.
His first impulse was to go to Bucky, to make sure he wasn’t alone when he heard the news. Only, he couldn’t do that.
He couldn’t do that, because since the day Steve went back to the 1940’s, no one has seen him. He didn’t show up for the court-mandated therapy, a condition of his pardon, and the apartment Steve left for him remained empty.
