Most teens who are meant to present as an alpha or an omega do so between the ages of 12 and 15, thus leaving 17-year-old Yuji to believe himself to be a beta. It's no big deal; he's more concerned with consuming Sukuna's fingers and finding a way to skate around that pesky execution looming over him anyway.
What he wasn't expecting was to slip into a heat one day randomly, and nothing could have prepared him for who would unknowingly walk in on him soon after.
