Summary
He didn’t know what he expected, really. This was their lives they were talking about. A year ago he’d been perfectly content on his little Antarctic research base, no friends to speak of, and now he was sneaking around an alien spaceship with a P-90 in his hands and a bag of C4 strapped to his back scared that the one person in the universe he cared about more than himself was already laying on the ground somewhere, a lifeless husk with ridiculous goddamn hair. When he got Sheppard back, they were going to be having words. Right after he kissed him senseless for scaring him. And in the morning, he was going to ask Arcus about where he could find the Pegasus equivalent of a priest because there was no way John wasn’t cursed or something.
-
Or, John and Rodney try to find a more permanent base in Pegasus and nothing goes to plan, including picking up some new housemates.

Summary
Nearly all of his life, Tony DiNozzo had known that he was only weakly latent and would probably never come online. As he's comfortable with himself and not terribly interested in change, it comes as a shock when an intimate moment during a sexcation with an old friend turns his life on its head. Out of the blue, his sleeping potential awakens ... and immediately draws the attention of the Alpha Prime Pair of North America. From there on out, it's one surprise after another for Tony, not all of them good, and he has to decide whether going through with his emergence is worth the promise of finding something beautiful on the horizon.

Something Beautiful On The Horizon by Morraine
my own records. Contains some spoilers: don't read if you don't want to know.
Ch. 1: Tony has an empathic event (projection) while having tantric sex with his sex-buddy, and Jim and Blair are nearby and gently let him know he's on the cusp of coming online. So he gets some sympathy and training and is absorbed into the center in D.C. pre-emergence to try to get a grip on his emotional baggage (insecurity/anxiety, etc.). Meanwhile, NCIS is shown to be a cesspit for sentinels and guides and an investigation is underway. Even though he's not online yet, Tony's empathy is super-sensitive (and hard to protect himself from).
Ch. 2: Increases the pace, as Tony interrupts a bathroom deal involving an Ancient device (which glows when he touches it, but says Keep me. Hide me. to him so he stashes it and doesn't tell even when Mitchell and Jackson show up. (Doesn't stop him from some off-screen nookie with Jackson.) Later, he feels a seriously psychopathic guide that no one else seems to read. (Turns out he's got an Ancient device to stop himself from being read. No one realizes it's an alien artifact, though.) So still a latent, Tony is breaking all kinds of barriers. Blair takes him back to Cascade as his padawan.
Ch. 3: Tony settles in Cascade, meets another guide sociopath, winds up on the spirit plane and meets his spirit animal. He learns he's in high demand everywhere for his empathic sensitivity, and Blair warns him to be very careful. At the end of the chapter, Patrick Sheppard of Sheppard Industries shows up, asking Tony to do some undercover work for him.
Ch. 4: Tony investigates SI to find the sabateur (so Patrick can send ships to find his son in Pegasus) and meanwhile has loads of sex w/Blair's guide PA, Peter. (Tony's pretty easy, at this point, he's had sex w/the sex-buddy friend, Daniel Jackson, Dr. Pitt and Peter. These relationships are very much by the by, however, not at all a focus.)
Ch. 5: Tony meets a honey badger on the spirit plane (Rodney's, of course) and there's some empathic fucking going on while they get to know each other. Also, Tony gets a few sneak peeks of Atlantis, with whom he establishes an empathic connection. A wolverine shows up -- probably John's -- but kind of irritably keeps his distance. Tony traumatically comes online while under attack.
Ch. 6: Rodney bonds with John when Tony (and therefore Rodney) comes online, which traumatizes Tony into a nearly suicidal depression. Meanwhile, there's a lot of upheaval in Sentinel and Guide politics on earth, the Wraith are apparently headed towards the Milky Way, and John feels tetchy b/c Rodney still wants Tony even though he's bonded now. So John and Tony have a lot of passive aggressive basketball games on the spirit plane, getting to know each other.
Happy ending. Someone else mentioned that this story has a similar feel to The Journey Home by Jilly James, and they're dead on. If you've got it in you (it's 126k), go read that next. ;)
