7 Works in Hotland Residents (Undertale)
When Calibri awoke, he was just as broken as his siblings. He knew that to survive in this world of monsters, he needed to stay away from view. But much is needed of him, the smartest of the children.
Something bothers him though. He suspects that his existence is part of a plot that he must discover.
You are Chief Akuji Rose, a retired military leader and now the chief of police in the notorious city of Ebott. Your reputation as one of the few veterans that survived the disastrous War of 20XX seems to have earned you a great deal of respect and the title of a 'military hero'. You do not appreciate the attention.
Then a shock shook the ground, and something in the air changed. Everything seemed to come to life. And that's when an entire new race emerged from a huge crack in Mount Ebott; monsters, in all their magic-wielding and powerful glory. Peace is attempted, but it ultimately fails.
This new arrangement does not sit well with you, and you swear... You will not let it stand.
>> DISCONTINUED FOR THE TIME BEING AS I FORGOT WHERE I WAS GOING TO GO WITH THIS! <<
Instead of the wizards being faceless powerful beings capable of trapping the monster under the barrier who are never brought up again. What if they were remorseful people forced into servitude and the barrier wasn't a punishment but a last ditch effort to protect the monster instead?
How, then, does one define a ‘soul’? Is it developed over one’s lifetime or the moment they are born? Are some naturally evil, rotten from their very core, or is such a thing learned? Does it have something to do with genetics? A difference between blood and magic?
How do people grasp the idea of what makes them themselves when such an idea is easily discarded?
OR -- the AU in which a monster absorbs a human soul and the consequences that come from messing with the continuity of the multiverse.
(ANOMALYTALE is a mix of previous ideas/AU's ive messed around with over the years, including my old & abandoned au, devastationtale. some chapters may be unsuited for certain people, so please make sure to read tags/warnings before you read! hope you enjoy!)

Everyone knew that those with impossibly blue eyes had the power of those who loved them, and that those with red eyes have the ability to SAVE and LOAD due to having learned magic. Just as everyone knew that those born with demon eyes are damned to the worst fate: to never get what you desire most in your life. For Frisk, they knew they would never get the full acceptance of their world, and for Asriel, it was to have a sibling he could watch grow up. For Lulu? She wanted to see the world burn.
- Part 1 of Damaged Tale
This is a continuation of C0mpr3h3n51b13's ChessTale.
Frisk tumbled down, down, down, into the darkness, which was waiting with open arms to engulf them.
The underground has grown stagnant since the humans began to fall. Monsters became obsessed with games to try and pass the time in their underground prison, even revolving their whole society around them. There's something about chess that just enraptures the monsters, culturing devotees in all areas of the underground.
Frisk is a natural at chess, untrained yet brilliant. However, will their talent be able to guide them through the underground intact?
