With a child killer walking free, nightmares haunting the very little sleep he gets, and no leads or clues presenting themselves, Will is feeling happier than he has in a very long time.
He's made the decision to kill himself.
Unfortunately for him, his attempt is thwarted by a man he's never met before in his life, in a very strange way.Even more unfortunate, the man appears in Jack Crawford's office two weeks later, having been invited to help with the gruesome case, as Jack introduces him as Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

Summary
After an interesting weekend in Baltimore where Will became quickly acquainted with one Hannibal Lecter, Will moves on to finish out the last five weeks of his contract with the carnival. Five more cities and then he gets to return to Baltimore to live in the lap of luxury as Hannibal's kept boy. Simple, right? Except he's got a fan in the company that's not happy to see him go, a pseudo-sister with problems of her own and on top of all that, there appears to be another killer out there that's gunning for Will's boyfriend.
Sometimes Will misses the days where all he had to do was stack milk jugs into a pyramid.

Summary
As Lithuania faces infighting and a long cold winter, both the Lecter's and the vampire WIll Graham struggle to survive. A chance encounter leads them to meet though and a young Hannibal Lecter sees a solution to all his problems.
Will Graham will protect him and his sister Mischa, keeping them alive, and in return, Hannibal won't kill him.
(I'm thinking lots of time jumps to best get the effect of different aged Hannibals dealing with the pissy vampire he's got in the basement.)

Will Graham is an orphan, brought to Italy by a distant relative and studying medicine at the University of Padua. Hannibal Lecter is a wealthy foreign count, a former lecturer at the university who has retired to his country villa to paint. He takes an interest in the young man and offers his patronage.
It could be as simple as that. But neither of them are simple men.

For as long as Will Graham could remember he could see and do things that shouldn't be possible.
He could see and converse with the dead. He could understand, however mildly, what animals around him said. He would have dreams, and in the waking realm, they would happen. Elements and fixtures would bend to his command. Darkness lurked and fed on his shadow, trailing like the hounds he kept. He could look into the eyes of any creature and see the surface of their very soul.
Problem is, he can never tell if it truly is happening or if it's another one of his hallucinations.
Hannibal Lector is left trailing after in the hopes he can see when Will finally accepts what he is. Now, if only Hannibal could find out what Will is himself, this might be easier.
