    Summary

Seeing me hesitate, the woman advanced. I saw the golden-haired handmaiden Doreah leap forward from behind her and snake her arm around the woman’s upper chest. My opponent arched her back and her eyes became very wide. Doreah whispered “I’m sorry,” and released her.

The hilt of the steel whip rolled out of her fingers. She slowly sank to her knees and looked up at me. She was beautiful, and I fancied that in other circumstances we would have been friends, perhaps even lovers. But instead she would now die.

“Tell John Carter,” she whispered, “tell my beloved husband that my final thoughts were of him, my final regret the child I could not give him. Tell him that I died recalling my love for him. Before you kill me, Dejah Thoris, promise me this.”

She had received orgasm from my husband, a gift he had denied to me.

“I will tell him nothing,” I said, and drove my sword through her heart.
    ---

John Carter and Dejah Thoris of the Burroughs novels are mis-directed to the world of Game of Thrones, fulfilling two separate prophecies. Carter is a Confederate officer; his ideas might be considered unenlightened. Dejah is very good at killing people, but she feels bad about it.

    Summary

An essay detailing the popular fan theory that House Stark's loyal subjects, with an assist from the Brotherhood Without Banners, secretly plot throughout A Feast For Crows and A Dance With Dragons to oust the Lannisters, Boltons, and Freys from power, then crown Jon Snow the new King in the North over Stannis Baratheon's objections. Revised and updated from my original seven-part series, first posted on Tumblr in June 2013.

    Summary

The movement of one tiny piece gives Robb Stark the chance to play the Game of Thrones properly, marry his Frey girl, and take back the North. His path takes him straight through the Neck and past Howland Reed, whose secret may be the key to winning the game.

Or, alternatively, Ned Stark can’t restrain himself from banging his wife while she’s in King’s Landing and inadvertently saves his son (though not himself) from his own stupidity.

    Summary

Years after Sansa's abduction, her safety is again at risk, and it's up to Jon Snow to keep her safe.

    --

"Just so you know," Sansa tells him before she leaves. "You can't protect me."

He raised an eyebrow. "Why can't I protect you?"

"Because you can't," she says simply, turning her back on him. "No one can protect anyone."

    Summary

What if Ned wasn't beheaded in King's Landing and Catelyn didn't die at the Red Wedding? Just over two years ago I asked myself those questions, and with the encouragement of some wonderful people I started this story.

This story takes place entirely in the canon universe, diverging from GRRM's epic at two points--Ned's execution and Catelyn's murder at the Twins--and examines all the ways that the survival of these two people might have changed events both large and small in the world of Westeros. The ripples have far reaching consequences for many throughout the Seven Kingdoms, but at its heart, this is a story of two people, their marriage, their family, and the North.

    Summary

Set years after all war has ended in Westeros, Sansa is headed back to Winterfell for the first time in years. All of Sansa's POVs take place one after the other. All other POVs fill in the gap between the end of the wars and Sansa heading north. Flashbacks include Bran's struggles as the Lord of Winterfell, Rickon being Rickon, and Arya's own internal struggles. For even though war may be over for the Stark family, happiness is a challenge not yet won.
